I suppose, but when they don't replace those who left, doesn't seem to make anything better.

No matter what happens, some people will hate it and others will like it. You hand a pilot a bag of money, and he complains how heavy it is. The reserve system isn't perfect, but I think this is a step in the right direction. A system that doesn't account for seniority is flawed. By the way, I am junior too. Here are some other complaints I have:
Senior people make more money than me, thats not fair. Senior people get more vacation than me, thats not fair. Senior guys get the trips I wanted, thats not fair. We are in a seniority driven profession. That is how it's been since this industry started. The new system brings back some seniority to reserve. This is a good thing. This was fixed outside of section 6 negotiations. I think the new bucket system is a good idea and a good improvement that was relatively easy to implement. There are more things that need fixing on reserve. You are right, higher reserve guarantee and definitely the same credit per trip lineholder vs reserve. But stop complaining about being able to exercise a little seniority on reserve!!! |
