Ya'll know?

And another question, is 24 hour assigned rest mean free from calls about next day SC? Someone asked me but I don't have time to look. Is that 24 hours free from company contact?

FTB,

It can be treated like the last day of X-days. Skeds can put something on your schedule by 3 PM that will require you to be at work as early as 0500. Usually, the 24 hrs off doesn't start at midnight and when that is the case all the times have to be adjusted to the new start time. If, scheds puts something on your schedule BEFORE your 24 hrs off starts, it can start immediately after the 24 hrs.

Hope that helps.

I think we can all agree to that and we're bound to that idea, now we just need them to agree that a marriage is not what we have. We have a "Big Love" marriage and it ain't right.

So what's the solution? Well, I need a shower. I feel dirty writing this. Evidently, I could never be a lawyer. :D sorry newk!

FTB, I'm in agreement with you, but that doesn't mean everyone else is. Some might just say Tiger's biggest mistake was getting caught. But if you can use the analogy at the negotiation table then you might have some success because no one who's married wants to be on record to the contrary of your assumptions!

Ha!

The thing is when someone says that the relationship between management and the pilots is like a marriage, say yes, yes it is. It's just like Tigers.

By all means, we should examine the facts, look at the possibilities, and see how we need to adjust our strategies to meet our objectives. But to forego meaningful pay increases based on a projection of doom and gloom (like we did with the merger)... or to assume the scope problem is going to improve based on a trend/forecast that may or may not continue (like I hope we are not doing now)... well, I think that is extremely foolish.

Better to stand up for what we know is right (i.e. professional airline pilots are worth a heck of a lot more than we are currently being paid and Delta pilots should be the only ones flying Delta passengers) and stop outsmarting ourselves by thinking we are economic gurus and business experts.

Abso-freakin-lutely!

As funny as that was (and it was) it was even more accurate. As in, not one thing in it was exaggerated in the slightest. That is exactly how they think and act.

Rumor alert! The following are some unsubstantiated rumors I have been hearing. Pick 'em apart if you care.

SWA 717s to DAL w/o pilots at the end of the year (2012). There's a whole thread dedicated to it, so I'll leave it at that.

Pilot retirement program with a medical plan to be announced shortly (by the end of the month?). The plan targets certain age groups and pilot positions to smooth out the upcoming retirement demographics and numbers. It is reported to be generous.

The wierdest: ASA (expressjet) pilots being told by their Flt Ops chief that they will be "stapled" to the bottom of the DAL list. Apparently ASA (expressjet's) interview process is conducted by DAL now, including 73N sim time at DAL.

I dont have any first hand knowledge of any of this stuff except it is making its rounds. There is more too, but I don't have enough detail to make a coherent post.
