All this stuff drives up the costs at DCI. Eventually someone with a half brain will see it is stupid to outsource stuff to a place that costs more to do the work. I think that the 70-76 seat outsourcing will eventually get where the 50 seat stuff is now and we won't have to "give" anything to get it back. Lots of stuff going to happen to DCI in the next 3-5 years that will make it ALOT more expensive to run that operation. |

saturday night? Luckily guinness will serve for lunch in a pinch... Btw, I think pizza has salt. Salt is banned in NYC from 10pm to 8am. And if food has salt then you can't give it to the homeless. Go mayor! |

And I'd still like to get these prophecies in writing, just in case. |
I guess Delta is testing a new product, Basic Economy. It's a slightly cheaper fare that doesn't allow seat selection or any changes to the ticket. (aka: compete with Spirit).
Right now it's only in a few markets from DTW (to Florida) but you know how that can expand. Delta?s New 'Basic Economy' Fare Could Be A Game-Changer - Business Insider I guess seats will be either assigned at check-in or at the gate. If it's at the gate, they'll be on the Airport Stby list as HKs. |
If the 88 FMS is cnx, then the whole re-panel program is on hold. The 88 and 90 FMS databases are maxed out; the cannot hold any more waypoints/data. The re-panel was to help address this, along with the GPS to navigate in the NexGen world.

Correct. They need a FMC update if they are going to continue to fly the birds in the Next Gen airspace.

Did they cancel the program, or did they just decide to fix the database and save 30%?

For an airline, and I know some hate me saying this but I've seen it happen in Coex's flow and am sticking to it, a flow sticks you with people you may not want or have turned down in the past. And I'm not talking about people who may have screwed up a cog test, but people whose personalities are unwanted. |
