Once again, the Red/Green issue was long settled before the merger. Despite the fact that there were (are) some unsettled hard feelings from the Roberts award, they have nothing to do with DPA. You obviously don't really understand the "RedVGreen crap" or you would realize it had no bearing on the merger/SLI and has no bearing on the current question of representation. As I understand it, the fNWA people who are in leadership roles with DPA are all blue book.
FWIW, the last 3 Captains I've flown with have all been RDs and have all been vocal DPA supporters.
Maybe it's time to stop assuming the DPA movement has anything to do with fNWA and the merger and start understanding that is has to do with ALL of us being represented appropriately.
They have come up with a new slogan. This is from yesterday's MEC publication entitled "Touch & Go's":
In the midst of the industry’s constant evolution, we believe the Delta pilots may once again have an opportunity to succeed in a timely manner. With all of this in mind, your MEC concluded its recent meeting with a unanimous resolution, which read in part that:
“. . .the Negotiating Committee immediately begin to pursue a superior Pilot Working Agreement, achieved in advance of the amendable date, that justly compensates the Delta pilots for their contributions to the success of the Company.”
...It includes key facts, which support the premise that attempting to achieve a timely superior agreement is consistent with pursuing the best interests of the Delta pilots...
...and concluded that a strategy to achieve a timely superior agreement is fully consistent with protecting our interests in this area...
...if the MEC’s approach to concluding a superior contract prior to the amendable date is not working to the MEC’s satisfaction...
Our reps are stating that they (and we) want an industry leading contract. Our reps (and we) are stating THAT is the primary goal and they won't weaken that goal in the pursuit of speed. Our MEC clearly disagrees. The MEC says they can't deliver on industry leading. They can only deliver on "superior". Superior to what is of course, an unknown.

Well sh#t! We have gone from "restoration" to "industry Leading" to now, "superior" !?!?
Superior to what? USAirways?
Glad they did not pay anymore due$ money to make up more lapel pins/tie tacks for every change in their slogans like the one you see on the left.
Deviating from DH
My next rotation begins with a 0530 check-in for a DH to ATL. If I deviate the night before on a red-eye straight to ATL instead of commuting to base the day prior followed by the early DH, does my duty day still start with my scheduled DH or when I deviated?
I suppose a call to Scheds is in order either way, but still interested in thoughts...
Thanks,
Cubdrick

Prior to this, we had differences of opinions on how things should be done, and we had opinions about the individuals representing us dircetly, but we didn't have entire slates of people working together to undo another group.
Carl will of course accuse me of loving ALPA, but all I care about is results and policies, and I am deeply, deeply suspicious of whatever is going on. I think it's about moving people around, and it reeks.
But again, there is another thread for this.

The problem is not so much DPA vs DALPA as it is that the only thing some can do is throw a grenade. I mean Carl and T can fight all they want, if you read it you can learn about the two opposing sides. But just to constantly throw a generic grenade that adds nothing is... well, we're collectively over it.
I'm not saying the TA will have to one I would "necessary" vote yes for right out of the gate or be thrilled about, but whatever DALPA presents to us for ratification will have to show that DALPA is at least "serious".
Time will tell....

The way I see it FTB, I'll make my decision on where I sit on the whole DPA vs. DALPA argument when I see the TA presented to, us, the pilot group.

So if the TA comes out and the DPA is close to the number needed to force a vote, what happens?
Who knows, depends on the TA of course, but I think this is a great illustration of the firework show we'll see here:

IMO, trying to frame dissatisfaction with ALPA and affiliation with DPA as a north v. south issue is misguided. I'm fNWA based in ATL, and I see far more DPA sympathy from the fDAL people I fly with than my fNWA buddies.

Add to that there are a lot of PMDL guys based in DTW now.
