The most surprising thing that a military retiree will discover in their first year at Delta will be TAXES! The tax advantages of military pay system (with all of it's (allowances), coupled with favorable state tax residency, and an occasional stroll thru a war zone really does produce 20 years of tax bliss that quickly evaporates with that first retiree "annuity payment".
That's why you move to a state with no income taxes - Florida, Texas and Nevada all qualify.

As does Washington (where King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties are located).

Hey everyone, I have an interview coming up at Delta and was wondering what the most commutable domicile would be from the Austin, TX area. Seems like Atlanta, but if you have any info I don't please pass it on. Also, is there an easy tool to use to try to determine the best commuting routes/options?

Looks like Atlanta has 7 mainline flights a day. The other bases are either 2 legs commutes or only have a couple of direct flights.

First things first. Plenty of time to get that figured out. Recommend getting the job first...interview prep is a must.

Did you play video games at any point in your life? I thought the cog test was easy. If you have hand eye coordination then the test is a breeze.
