As for the suit? It doesn't matter as long as you don't walk in with a purple one and a pimp hat and cane.

One big trick for the HR part: go through all the RST ride reports and copy all the HR questions people have gotten. Make sure you have a good story or explanation of how you would answer each question. Don't memorize, just a good general idea. Practice answering them and record yourself. You don't want to be surprised by a TMAAT question with no answer.

Use emerald coasts videos on how to frame your answer
No offense, but I wouldn’t do that. Trying to come up with a story for every single question you can find on the internet isn’t the best way to prepare in my opinion. ECIC has a good strategy for having answers to several general types of TMAAT questions. If you have a good story or two for each of those types, you’ll be ready for 95% of the TMAAT questions. Once you’ve done that, then I’d use the left over time preparing for the random questions from RST ride reports that my prepped stories couldn’t cover. Just my opinion, but I think it will save you time and sanity.

Is there a consensus on which prep service is the best for Delta Air Lines? I did a quick search on the forum and the results I found mentioned Aero Crew Solutions, Centerline, Emerald Coast... but all the info was years old. I understand I should use RST for the tech portion.

I am an Emerald Coast member, so I can go back through their course fairly quickly at no additional cost, but I'm not against spending a bit of $$ if another service is "the way to go".

One more thing... how accurate is the info I hear about "blue suit, red tie"? Does it matter at all, or can I use my black suit I've worn maybe 4 times..?

Thanks folks.
One of the guys on my interview day (2015) wore a black suit with a black tie. Looked like he was straight out of the Blues Brothers. He got hired.

The HR department is bored to death with applicants dress wear, they asked us to lie and tell everyone we got hired with a bow tie on and a blue suit. Doesn't seem like that's made it through the web yet and even if it did pilots would have shot it down. They're just going to have to deal with navy suits and red ties.

For my 2014 interview I wore a charcoal colored Mr. Lim PCS special I'd purchased in 2004 (I didn't have the ca-hones to go with the olive green suit) along with burgundy wingtips I'd purchased in college back in '93. I might have been wearing underwear from a decade ago as well. They don't care what you're wearing, if United had called me just a little sooner for an interview and I had a backup I might have given olive green a go just for the notoriety I'd have earned.

My cousin was hired in 77’ and told me he wore the only suit he had. Asked if I watched Caddyshack. He said remember the suit Rodney Dangerfield wore? He said, yep, wore it.

Wasn't there a guy that showed up to a Spirit hiring fair a few years back in an entirely banana-yellow suit and was hired.....

So you're saying there's a chance.....

A guy in my interview class, his inbound flight broke and they flew in a new plane for the flight. None of the checked bags were moved over to the new plane, so he interviewed in the only clothes he had: slacks and a polo that had been worn all day already. He was hired.

Edit: I think he said his flight didn't get in until midnight either, so he only got like 5 hours of sleep at most.

The interviewers were impressed that Badflaps and I actually owned suits.
When they learned we could count to twelve with our shoes on, it sealed the deal.
