Weird. Every panel interviewer has a copy of the app, and the recs are at the end of the printout.

Not really

Should not have kept hiring so low this year

and I believe we are going to expand that 717 style operation with crews and jets staying together, it's funny but we need to hire more people to make the operation stronger which makes it more profitable

We shall see

I'm curious where you got that the panel interviewers don't see them?

The panel interviewers most definitely see them. In my interview they pulled one out and we discussed how I knew the recommender and his family.

Yep, AND the logistics of training 1500 new hires on top of training current transitioning pilots seems difficult. We're behind the hiring curve now and I think it'll be hard to catch up. I've been wrong before though!

Do scores to pass the interview fluctuate based upon the hiring goals?
Obviously it’s still a tough interview, but does the limbo bar move up and down with the market?

Saw in another forum someone made that claim. Wasn’t sure if it could be substantiated.

Also, not related to the poster above

We hired around 1000/year pre-merger in the late 90s hiring wave but a few things have changed since then including the merger which increased training capacity and more recently the more aggressive simulator schedule.

So overall we have a lot more capacity now but we also have a more complicated fleet and more retirements now, although we were dealing with retirements in that timeframe also - just not on the level we are now seeing.

We also outsourced some training back then so simulator availability or lack of availability could either help or hinder our training potential. The biggest burden I see is the huge number of retirements off the top resulting in cascading training requirements which can cause major churn in many categories as Pilots move up the food chain. I sure hope we don’t contemplate any addition to seat locks in section 6 as we already are lagging our peers in that regard.

It will be interesting.

Agree. No more seat locks it’s a terrible limit to our flexibility. OTOH I could see room for a voluntary seat lock in exchange for .... something. Maybe 2 weeks of extra ivd’s per year? (14). Or perhaps a training-footprint’s worth?
