There are literally thousands of impressive resumes out there. Take a look at the people that are getting hired and I think you'll agree that where one might be perceived to be lacking or mediocre, they make up for it elsewhere in a big way. There are around 9,000 applications on file with DAL!
^^^^^^^ This! I remember looking around the first day of my interview thinking there is no way I'd get hired with so much great talent around me (and I had a pretty strong resume.) Lucky for me, they hired 10 out of 12 that day. The two who didn't get hired? One had a major attitude, the other was simply too young.

I wouldn't think of it that way. Every legacy is in the beginning stages of hiring over 10,000 pilots each during this cycle (economic collapse, man made disasters, global warming/cooling or alien invasion notwithstanding) after a very long dry spell and massive bottleneck and so far they have each only called a few hundred out of countless thousands of well qualified resumes.

Even if your resume is stellar, you still mostly blend in with a very large crowd. You will very likely get multipile calls for interviews in the next 12 months. Keep your apps updated and network as best you can and stay current, and definately get professional interview prep and you will have an airline job before you know it. You'll probably even have a choice between at least two.

+717^^^^^

In addition, you will probably get offers when you are in INDOC. This is your time. Its your choice. Just be patient. They all come at the same time. Then your next worry is which do I choose or do I leave indoc for XXXX Air lines?

Enjoy the leadup.

Actually the wide body CA got it the best.

Just because I've been a CA for almost 7 yrs at a regional, don't think that I've been rolling in a great QOL. I can't hold weekends off. It's a tossup on whether or not I can get holidays off. 10th yr pay is $15 more than 1st yr pay at mainline with a fraction of the benefits.

I've been trying to quit since 2008. Since the economy tanked and Age 65 let the geriatrics stay put for 5 years it's been a slow go for everyone. Sure you got furloughed. I'm sure it sucked. But you're back on the line now at mainline. Being paid well and treated well.

While those of us slumming it in RJ's are still treated like crap and paid poorly...praying for the phone to ring so we have a chance to do well at an interview and make it to the big leagues.

I think I've been pretty clear on where i stand on this. I'm just an FO, and my opinion really doesn't matter, anyway. I hope the phone rings or the email pings and you get your chance. FWIW, I wouldn't mention slumming it and being treated like crap at your previous airline. Instead, I recommend focussing on all the experience and opportunities you enjoyed during your 7 years in the left seat.

Good luck

Anyone get an invite after those "fix it" emails from the last couple of weeks?

I recieved a fix it/clarification mid January and no follow up invite on my end. I went to WAI as well...I wonder if it's like a cycle where they go through them, then come back to the fix it apps a few months later. Maybe someone might have some intel on the process, but either way the thing to remember is to be patient and live life in the meantime.
