For recent interviewees/new hires: how long did it take after the interview for the job offer? And how soon were the class start dates?

Thanks.

If you are successful you will receive a "conditional job offer" on day one. It is conditional contingent on passing a psychologist interview and background check.

^^^^what he said. Now that the hiring pool has dried up, you aren't waiting as long to get called for a class date. I interviewed 6/12, got the conditional job offer after day 1, we were told if something went wrong on day 2, we would hear within a few business days (in this case, no news was good news), and on 6/25 got the call offering me a 7/21 class date.

Guess the only speculation is that our applications made it to the being reviewed pile. From this forum, or what's left of it, is that it could mean a call. Not waiting by the phone though.

Question for any delta pilots out there. I have a dispatcher friend that is trying to get on with delta. I told him after I have some time in, I would try and help him out. He said that I wasn't allowed to because his application was submitted before I was hired, and that his delta friend said you could only recommend candidates if they apply after you have been hired. Does anyone know if that's true for pilots?

What your friend is saying doesn't really make sense. Your dispatcher friend can ask anyone--pilot, friend, neighbor--to write a letter of recommendation. If you write his/her recommendation, you can list your title as a Delta pilot as well as use your [email protected] email address when submitting. How much weight a letter or rec from a new hire carries, if any different than a senior captain, would be any ones guess.

Welcome aboard!

Well its not "blocked" if that's what you're asking. My buddy hired in March wrote a good buddy of ours a rec, and his app has been in the system for a year. But like the previous post mentioned, who knows how much weight it carries.

I remember with FAs for you to recommend them, you had to recommend them to apply, and then they could apply for it to count.

Might be the same deal with dispatchers.

....and the psych aspect might come back to haunt you after your conditional offer. Don't take it lightly. I had an AF-2 buddy who had his rescinded. He's in AA training now.
