When a new vacancy is bid upon, do you have the option to opt to your 2nd choice.
Lets say I bid for base A, but dont like where I fall, can I say I want my option 2, base B because I would hold higher seniority there? I would prefer A, but after the first award of the vacancy B would be better after seeing where everyone else falls. Even though I may be based in base C, which is my 3rd choice on my bid.

I guess you're correct, if you were an alternate on the initial, withdrew from your first choice, and then you're awarded your second choice on the final. Would have to be a perfect situation though I guess.

Nope, the contract language is pretty clear on that. Company and MEC would have to mutually agree to something like that, which they could do, but as it stands right now, he'd have two choices: take the top pref or stay where he currently is.

Yeah. And based on my luck with the EFB email, probably not going to happen. Back to the drawing board...

Sorry in advance, FNG here.
Any BTV commuters out there?
From what I can tell there's two to four 9E flights per day to LGA, and a couple JetBlue to JFK. I'm trying to asses the feasibility of commuting from Burlington as I don't want to move to NYC. I know it's drivable in a pinch but that's obviously not desirable.

Depends if you are 200 or 900, 200 everything was pretty rapid fire, started FTD the following Tuesday after ground school ended, sims for 200 are split between Phoenix and msp, 900 is all in msp. But plan on splitting your time for 200 between out there and msp. Sims you pretty much go 3-4 days on and a day or two break. After sims I had about 5 days before my first OE trip, as per contract So expect very shorts breaks between the start of ground school and OE. You can also expect to do your OE out of Detroit or msp.

Are the loads usually pretty full?
I'm considering the move up there from Southern NH where I would be commuting out of BOS or MHT. I know Boston has a ton of flights but it's 1.5 hours by car or bus from where I live.
I know commuting will suck no matter where it is, but I'm trying to feel out just how much suck I'm willing to endure.
