Got it. Thanks for clarification, both of you.

Guys on RSV were basically working 2 days at a time, but not really, because the company couldn’t use them for a lot of flying. By adding the third day, now they can be put on CDOs or other day trips that pop up. So less sitting at home, more time actually working. Really made some mad.

SKW is pretty short in DTW now. I heard ENY was coming down over the summer, but honestly haven’t kept up lately. Hopefully it’s not so long for them now.

Won’t go into pay, though ENY may actually beat us on 2YFO pay now.

Is SKW and ENY reserve really that long? I’ve heard of SKW going straight from IOE to line on the crj but things could be different on the 175.

The irony is that 3 on 1 off p3, makes you even less usable. 2 on 1 off just prevents them from switching you to day flying. It's about padding coverage numbers, doesn't mean you are actually going to work.

What makes 3 on even less usable than 2? I’m guessing they are just planning on doing a lot of converting to P1 or P2 then.

A significant portion of open time is during the p1/p2 hours. Like 99%. The things that are only really open for p3 is a high speed and they have been on a good kick of giving those to p1 reserves. P3 reserves are very rarely used.

Yeah I know but Mesabah said 3 on was less usable than 2 on. I guess I’m not really sure why anyone bids P3 unless they are actively trying to avoid flying.

Almost everyone who does CDO/CNO/P3 has another job.

You can't go back and forth between day flying, and cdo's without time off. You would be more usable if you had, say a 5 day stretch of P3, and could do a 4 day starting day 2. However, with only 3 days, they really can only give you a two day. So with 2 on 1 off, you have more days spread out to cover single CDO's here and there, or a day trip. On a 3 on 1 off, you almost always wind up with only 2-3 two-day trips during the whole month, vs 5-6 cdos/day trips, in a 2 on 1 off month. If that makes sense.

I've been doing it for 10 years now, I have a lot of experience with it.
