Line times for CA
if hired w/ 1000+ 121 time and all other boxes checked, a nearly-immediate upgrade appears imminent: how long are junior captains on reserve for?
are the -200s all going away, or just some?
idk why they bothered pulling so many out of the desert in the first place LOL

There are a number (at least 100) of 900 FOs who could upgrade. Many like the 19-20 days off lifestyle; and the TA makes that perhaps even more attractive.
At the bottom of the Seniority list are the Whiskey & ExpressJet folks who made the jump who will be bumped back down by everyone that upgrades.
Both NYC and ATL will see substantial growth; and we're still loosing 25-35 a month; primarily to Delta.
Reserve here isn't a bad gig. CS are somewhat flexible (unless we're in an IROP) and assign duty several days ahead of time.
in 18 months here i haven't regretted the move away from a 'Flow' once.
YMMV, and I live in base, but I find it hard not to crack a smile on the way to work..

Bottom line is there's just no way to project this. We're in a huge amount of flux, with 40 odd new (to us) Dual Class Aircraft, MSP 200 demise and ATL opening.

Living in base helps, sure. But I've flown with a 23-year commuter who mostly 2-legs it to and from work. His attitude is great, and he's fun to fly with. So I think it's more about the person than where they choose to live.

Amen. Attitude goes a long way. Can make a trip enjoyable or suck no matter what scheduling/weather/maintenance/etc. throws at you.
