[QUOTE=Two Kings;2604750]Are we still going to be ahead of Delta flight attendants on our FA jump seat or are they going to bump on that like they do for a cabin seat?

Yes, our metal, our seat.

I learned something today. I've always moved mine outside of former employers for additional fund choices, I had never considered the pre-retirement distribution angle. Evidently that's a function of plan design (meaning the employer can choose to let you make "in-service" withdrawls (after 59.5 but before you actually retire) ) I have no idea which plan design is more common but there's another good reason not to roll directly from old employer to new employer.

You don’t have to pick up all of the trip. Take what you can fly legally and I’m hoping to get bought off this weekend so I second the other guy on stop bidding lca if you need hours. Lol!

Yeah, I contacted the FO with an offer to split it, but it didn't work for him.

And OK, I owe a drink to you guys who're trying to get bought off. If I get the upgrade you can buddy bid me and mention the thread to claim it

You can also roll over into a self directed Ira and buy real estate, trade stocks in your own account etc. check out Matt Sorensen online. He is an expert attorney in the field.

I'll assume that's not the Matt Sorensen that was sentenced to jail related to a billing fraud at State Farm.

Regardless, I may look into the self directed IRA at some point ( I was aware they exist) I've heard there's a good deal of red tape related to using them to buy/manage real estate and I don't trade individual stocks (too much risk for me).

Definitely good discussion for all of us to consider.

It's not really all that complicated. The nickle version is that you can't do work yourself, you can't use the real estate at all for yourself, you can't personally profit, and no one in your linear family can do any of these either. Two examples: Don't buy a beach rental then stay there for even a day; Don't pick up a screwdriver to fix the door knob or do the paining yourself.

I have used my IRA to buy real estate and made much more than the stocks I sold to fund my Self Directed IRA. There are a number of sources online to educate yourself.

Correct assumption. It’s not difficult to setup and I have a LLC owned by my Ira which makes transactions simple.

It used to be in a SIDA last time I checked. I remember reading somewhere that the one in the airport closed but they still have the one on Virginia Ave open.
