There are quite a few instances where in class seniority is a really big deal, but they are niches and rare. Such as, CA awards are not made in initial assignments since 9E has no street-CA program, but 2 guys in the same class could possibly be competing for a CA slot even while in FO training.

But, for 99 out of 100 new hires, in-class seniority is not really important and certainly not worth worrying about. The company can award seniority however they please since it's not covered in the CBA.
I disagree. The Aircraft and Base drops are entirely dependent on whatever voodoo spell was last cast by Crew Planning.
My class got pretty much every possible combination apart from MSP -9.
With the seat lock this could become even more important. I don't think many new hires bid for the Deuce; but clever ones may consider it. A decent break after OE, near immediate Line and lashings of Premium pay make it a contender for the smart money.
The only good advice I've heard about class drops is to bid what you want, and fly what you get.
With Endeavor primed for some significant growth over the coming months you won't go too far wrong..

I think the time to have been awarded the deuce was 9 months ago. With the seat lock things will become very stagnant on the deuce for someone hired today. It’s full of new hires not going anywhere! Meanwhile the 900 has more senior fos primed for immediate upgrade.

And that open time will quickly disappear. I counted like 50 pilots assigned to the 200 in nyc, most still in training, and 11 lines. Wtf?

No matter what airframe they give me, I'm happy to be joining the team!

I've accepted an ATP class date on August 27, and a class date of Sept 17. Looking forward to training!

Glad to see BL give us an update that the three carrier DCI plan is still in motion and that details/growth will be announced in the next couple months. Really enjoying the visibility and communication from the new execs....or maybe the kool-aid is just getting stronger and I haven't noticed.

I’m really enjoying all the recent communication as well. I think we will hear something soon...all these new hires have to go somewhere...

Also the last comment he wrote seemed to be an indirect jab against Compass...heard they had 30 + controllable cancelations last month.
