Yep. He came to recurrent class in place of TW, told us that "latency is always the pilot's fault," then told us that we should never drop the brake until we're about to push. He said that he'd rather have us out ten late than have us take a latency hit, even if the door is closed and the cockpit and cabin are ready to go. Ramp blocked? Too bad. Tug broke? Too bad.

It's the same conversation every single year. One year they actually cracked down, and enforced absolutely no dropping of the brake until you were ready to push, three weeks later we got a memo from JR, saying we would all need to find new jobs if we couldn't get out on time. Hilarious.
I have had the opposite of good experiences with duty pilots. They are not our friends. They are management pilots, plain and simple. They've basically been an extension of the CP's and not a great resource for us. Ymmv, but this has been a systematic issue according to the reps I've talked too.

Yup they are pilot pushers that is for sure....they pressured me to fly an APU inop plane all day with a heat index in the 100's and when I started calling about my ipad overheating and not being usable did they finally start getting serious in helping me. They are management company people at that point not pilots.
