side note- I’ve spoken with a few DL pilots over the past week or 2 (before and after the AA news) and the ones I spoke to were very supportive of 9E and both even mentioned a “staple” of some sort unprompted. Just found that interesting.
The ones I spoke with said the same. The Delta pilots would not be affected at all by a staple, if fact that’s that’s what the Delta pilot group was talking about for years, bringing regional flying back in house.

That's been my experience, too. The sample size is small, but the sample I've talked to is actually larger than the loudest "staple hell no" contingent that APC has to offer.

Issue is any of these would require DALPA concurrence, which wouldn’t be on their radar until the PWA is done I’d imagine (remember DAL hasn’t has a pay raise since early 2019).
DALPA will definitely engage management before the PWA is done, they are already not happy about $20+mil being dropped on EDV a few months ago. It’s in DALPAs interest to make sure Delta money spent on another pilot group is minimal. Supposedly DALPA is meeting with management including Ed Bastian today to discuss.

If it were my decision, I would exercise options on the A220 to replace all the CRJ's. The CRJ is EOL, so stop the hiring at Endeavor, and start moving pilots over at 100 a month to cover flying on the new A220s. The newer CRJ's can be transferred to Skywest.

And they're going to staff them how? They're in a worse spot than Endeavor is... You're not wrong, just not sure anyone will be left standing to fly the CRJ when it's all said and done. Skywest would rather be all 175 at this point I bet.

AA threw a grenade at Endeavor, and I don't know what options Delta has. A staple is not workable due to the seniority inversion it creates, the Endeavor senior pilots would have a right to sue under McCaskill-Bond, and they would.

This is different. When seniority lists were merged in 2001 when AA bought TWA, TWA didn't have a flow to AA. They were completely separate companies, and what we would later know as McCaskill-Bond had merit. The fences that were put up were unrealistic and senior TWA pilots had a genuine grievance. (Fun fact: there are still 12 of them on property at AA today.)

9E pilots have a flow program in place to get them to DL. Senior 9E pilots—if they opt to flow—already start at the bottom of the list. It's a moot-point.

What it would do is seriously throw into question the textual meaning behind the term "transfer of ownership or control" that the law is defined by, but that's for the lawyers.

AA definitely threw a grenade at 9E and DL by inking these latest LOAs with its wholly-owneds, but a staple doesn't create the type of seniority inversion that McCaskill-Bond protects against.

A staple with a 2 year fence would be a win for everyone involved

Why would they need a fence? You think any fo at delta would bid to fly rj Capt? I can’t imagine anyone being that self loathing.

It would keep the RJ properly staffed and to ease the migration.
