I live just over the NJ/PA line near Allentown PA. Besides rush hour traffic, the drive is 2 hours and 15 minutes to JFK. My question is does anyone else do this? I understand I will have to get a crash pad because I'm just outside the call out for reserve and I don't want to drive that everyday. But how bad is the drive? I already have a CJO at Endeavor and I am also considering Piedmont (1.2 hours from PHL). Current 135 guy here and never did 121.

From my understanding the $18-20/ hour figure was chosen because total compensation would go up approximately $23K per year. Something about 401K contribution and a lower withholding rate (although that wouldn't change much because we are refunded that money at the end of the year). Id expect we will see a proposal by the end of this year

I wish I can find those Endeavor or DCI pilots that are trying to put themselves across as DAL pilots. I haven't seen any on this message board but if/when I do I will show them your reply and put them in their place. Thanks for your clarification.
As far as negative attitudes I have seen it in full uniform. I am sure it must be my fault somehow. I ALWAYS make sure I use a Navy like term, "permission to come aboard sir" to ask NOT to expect, but still get the negative or condescending attitude. As you say though thankfully it isn't the majority.
Here is one for you. Name me any DCI or other mainline jumpseator that has mentioned to a DAL captain how to operate his cockpit without his/her asking. They might even get asked to leave if they did. I doubt any jumpseator would but it has happened to me ONLY from a DAL jumpseator.
I can assure you I would never even think to tell another captain how to.
I guess from the highly desired and huge difficulty to achieve a mainline job and especially at DAL has created these condescending attitudes that I witness mostly from DAL pilots. Don't care to have any special treatment except to be more cordial as I try my best to regardless.

So you had "a" Dl guy say something about how to operate whatever that means. OK. I guess. What was it? What was the context? Did you brief "please speak up if you have a concern about anything"? And how many DL jumpers have you had, and what percentage of those is this one guy?
Anyway, no one was saying Endeavor pilots were literally pretending to be DL pilots. What I think you are referring to is a response to *some* implying that since DL talks about "the entire DL family" etc that DL can't ever get anything (like the reward PS passes) without everyone else getting it, otherwise flagrant hypocrisy and malicious contempt all around.
In any case, I've been on both ends of the jumpseat with pretty much every single airline out there, and its been my experience that its pretty much the same everywhere. If you're having a significantly different experience, maybe you're a far side of the bell curve statistical outlier, or maybe you have a chip on your shoulder, who knows. Either way, if you need a ride, welcome. Seriously.
Oh, and if you see something, say something. I'd rather you do so frivolously than to sit on something that could end up being a thing.

Absolutely. My point is that whatever percentage the outliers are, they're about the same percent across the board. I'm not just defending my posse or whatever, I literally have seen zero difference, despite the hilarious stereotypes of various pilot groups that abound in crew room banter etc.

Wow dude. Shoulder meet chip I guess.

We have minimum oxygen requirements and it wasn't even barely below. I didn't care about a miner delay to help someone out. He was trying to say don't worry about it but why even say anything? Some people have been denied a Jumpseat due to oxygen.
When one company buys out another company and is so in control of it and invited to attend company block parties it can get confusing to us small folks. Sorry my bad but I/we know our place now and thank you.

Serious question: what would you look for in improving reserve rules?
A few things I can think of:
- Min days off increase - at least for CA's since reserve is much longer (forever at MSP)
- Long call reserve
- Hybrid lines
- Aggressive pickup of OT
- Ready reserve/reserve grid utilization
