To change gears- 17-04 initial comes out tomorrow, will be curious to see where the most junior upgrade falls, and what the time reduction will be (if required).
I'm looking forward to this one just as an empirical experiment. Not that I'm bidding to move or anything, but I'm curious how much inter-NYC movement they're going to allow. I imagine there will be some people transitioning to the 200 just because it's so junior. Maybe some people transitioning from JFK to LGA too?

Side note, anyone hear any rumors recently of combining JFK and LGA into a single base?

Word in recurrent was there was discussion on it and the 'price'. A few pages back there were a few proposals kicked around that were rumored.

Saw a new recruitment ad putting forward 9 month upgrade with prior 121 time. Hell of a change from even a year ago when I was told project upgrade was 3 years!

It's been brought up a few times. Latest word from the union is that the company is not really pressing that hard on the issue. If it were to happen we would obviously gain something in return

And let's hope and pray that we never see, in our lifetimes, freight pilots flying 747s and 767s looking for mainline jobs...you know...with Atlas painted on the side possibly.

Yep..good thing the regionals are the only source for pilots. Keep spinning those wheels..you'll make it one day!
Strange reaction. Not the worst or anything still, remarkable.

Firstly I'd be surprised at anyone leaving atlas for a legacy but i suppose some will.

Secondly many are going from regional to mainline directly and mainline seems to be committing more to the future so pilots will continue to populate the regionals for a few more years. As such the regional pilots are poised to be drained at some point so maybe that lends as much to your argument as mine.

Third, the 91 guys have the best QOL ive seen. Hands down. Those jobs will continue. 135 pay rates will increase just as ours do and I would forecast they will be very agressive at keeping pilots by pay and QOL. Take the 121 supplementals, besides Atlas, and total them up. That won't fill the gap.

Fourth, the LLC stepping stones will probably keep the majority of their pilots because they'll continue to raise their pay.

Fifth, military will continue to be a shrinking supply of pilots for mainline. The governmentwill get competative on pay, and if the airforce projections are correct the growth and inceasing percentage of pilots will be UAV pilots.

So in conclusion, the regionals were be cited because they are a mostly uncommitted group. It wasn't meant as a jab at supplementals or the Jetblues and Spirits of the world. Nor was it meant as a jab at military. So calm the f down.

I imagine that will depend on what the reaction from Endeavor turns out to be. I guess we will find out now just how badly they want to keep classes full going forward.

In this environment I think it unwise for any to jump ship unless American is their Dream Job. Endeavor is still tip of the spear if you ask me. With the improvements we continue to see year after year I'd just as soon sit tight and watch it unfold while you build seniority and increase QOL. This isn't End-State

Envoy has higher pay and a guaranteed flow. Meanwhile 9Es hire rate into delta is less than 40% at times.

You guys will be fine! Skywest has a minimal bonus and is still managing to get 80 new hires each month... some might chase the money but it's not everything!

Higher first year pay, but I'm curious how the two stack up in year two and beyond.
