One of the reasons they had a rash of low speed events a year or so ago. I just wonder what they're filled at, because I've never heard them advising ATC of a much slower true airspeed. It's kinda funny though when you're creeping up on them. ATC says, Skywest ___ say indicated. Um, 250 knots. What do you need?
It's a culture thing, by flying slow, they don't really care about the people in the back.

I heard MSP center call them on it on one of the many arrivals to MSP that are published at 280 knots. First question was say speed, they responded 250. Second question was "what does the arrival say for speed", they responded 280. Couldn't answer the third question on why they weren't doing it.

Or not giving you the nod in MSP. Expressjet guys are friendly, Compass for the most part are friendly, hell even mainline is better than Skywest. Every time I look in there direction its like they have to avert their eyes. Its not a big deal in the grand scheme of things and I'm not trying to paint a pilot group with one brush but it seems to be 80% SKW guys that can't give you the time of day....
I know more than a few guys at endeavor that flew around at 250. Doesn't matter where you are you will have those guys, and I've got better things to do than giving you a nod walking through the terminal.
I've flown for both companies and I am very pleased I left there.
As for the slow peed events 9E had their fare share and not to mention the F410 flight. The dumb cost index per the company was the cause of the slow speed events and since it was cancelled the problem has gone.

Since the CI function was removed is it company procedure to fly the 250? Since skywest has consistently better customer service numbers than endeavor, Im comfortable saying skywest cares about the passengers and are professional even if they don't smile and nod on the walk ways.

Honestly our SOP is still changing from the CI days. Things are still in motion but as of now 250/290/320 (depending) is the SOP.
Descent has no allowance for 250.
I always nod.
Two pilotsin an AIRPORT, how could you not!
You are my brothers.

I know msp is msp, but it wouldnt kill them to make that 280 thing bigger and bold next to chart name like ord. Ive breezed over it in the past.

And that right there is the problem. There is zero consistency on how speed restrictions are published on the chart. MSP, DTW, NYC - all different.

It's all good the majority that ride the js whether they are mainline, regional, etc. are almost always cordial.
Message boards bring out the "chest thumping" in folks.

What are you talking about? At the beginning of each arrival there is a big box with BOLD print that says "SPEED RESTRICTION"

Can any August or September new hires tell me how long training is taking now days.
I'll be commuting out of DFW. MSP is a very easy for me. But I just want to get a commutable line and upgrade ASAP. What aircraft and base should I shoot for?
