I assume you are asking about an extra thousand above 75 hr guarantee. Basically for picking up extra hours you will make 45/hr (150% of pay rate) before tax so you need 22.5 hrs for $1000 extra gross. As others have said, it is almost impossible on RSV if you commute and still challenging if you live in base since you only get 11 days off per month on reserve and still have 117 rules to comply with.

Very doable once you are a line holder.

I mean, what happens if you call for AP on at 600', and it fails to come on? Will you just abandon the departure procedure? Of course not. Have the PM hit the FD button, getting rid of all those distractions, and fly a heading and an airspeed.
I have to agree with this. On my eval ride at the end of OE, I had to make a visual go-around due to the tower's instructions. Beautiful day, I just left the auto pilot off as well as the FD (after we were level) and flew the aircraft around right traffic and brought it back in. However; I know some SID's can get pretty complex at times. Worst case, just have the PM stay on top of verbalizing the approach to you as you focus and fly the aircraft. Have him repeat what you want him to repeat. Maybe repeat back what you are doing just to make sure you both are on the same page. Good CRM goes along way. Use the PM!

How about using the FD instead of worrying about how complex the SID is? Or is there a Company policy against using the FD? I guess I'll learn this in class.

I didn't realize there was such an internal debate. I've always just briefed the other guy "hey, I want to fly this AP off until 10, that work for you?".

I've hand flown the Whitestone a bunch of times, if they are prepared it isn't a big deal, just fly the plane and balance everything. 'Hmm the other guy is busy with calls and twisting bugs, I'll wait a second before I call After Takeoffs'. Use the FD or fly raw data, both can be fine. Work together, CRM, cooperate-graduate and all that stuff.

Jeez, you gotta start the turn anyway, just keep it going. Then at the appropriate time make another turn to 40 heading. It's not that hard. I think people are making more out of this than need be. As mentioned just brief it so the other guy is on the same page. I feel like it's better to hand fly this sid at least until you're on a 40 heading. The auto pilot is pretty sluggish in starting the turn

Which brings the question, when is the announcement of more airplanes coming. Because our attrition surely isn't that high...

Been hearing a rumor from new hires that management is telling them that they can potentially finish IOE and be sent right to upgrade training. (For those who meet 121.436 of course)
Sure is an exciting rumor for someone with prior 121 PIC.

Not really a rumor. Had a guy in my April new hire class (was previous pinnacle) that was a 777 driver at Emirates for while. Came back and was in upgrade class for the JFK 200 in August or September. If you have the time and are willing to go to NYC then you will get the upgrade. Most of the senior FO's are happy where they are at with either CJO's or are not willing to commute to NYC just for that 4th stripe.

Actually I have flown with him, really cool guy with awesome stories. But I never really count former 9Е,XJ employees. They were talking straight 121 experience. A guy 1 number senior to me upgraded from 8/8 class because he flew at Colgan 10 years ago for 10 months. I was just keeping my fingers crossed for 16-06 to see what happens.
