They will have to be brought on to the Envoy certificate first anyway.

These planes wont need full conformance checks, so that process is quick.

Yet we're gonna staff 20 more Embraer 175s next month.

They will need to go through conformity checks before they can be added onto the certificate. Depending on the extent of the work that needs to be inspected and corrected it can take some time.

Based on the two announcements coming in the same email, I’m guessing there is a major drawdown on 145 to cover the transition.

Pure speculation though.

They can get new hire positions at ENY without any input from ALPA. If AAG wants to do that, frankly, who cares. The previous flow back guaranteed them CA seats. That’s what caused the real problems. THAT would have to be negotiated with ALPA and put to a vote (hopefully). I can’t imagine that would ever gain any traction.

I am or I guess was a new hire in one of the upcoming classes. I did not find out about the hiring freeze from Envoy, but from you guys/gals on APC and my friends in this airline. I wish they would come out with an email or phone call telling us what the heck is going on for all of us. So far, us new hires are still left in the dark and it has been nothing but crickets.
