Ah, Mesa. That company that is actually making a profit and loaning money to AA and UA to get their future business?

And that was just given another CPA for five additional aircraft by AA?

31.12.2020 - 05:33 UTCMesa Airlines (YV, Phoenix Sky Harbor) will increase its Capacity Purchase Agreement (CPA) with American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) by five incremental aircraft in early 2021 with all of them entering service by the end of March.

The regional capacity provider said American would retain the right to remove the five aircraft with 60 days' notice. While it did not identify the type of aircraft, the only one currently operated by Mesa Airlines under the American Eagle brand is the CRJ900.

According to the ch-aviation fleets advanced module, Mesa Airlines currently operates fifty-three CRJ900ERs and eleven CRJ900LRs for American Airlines, although its existing CPA only covers 40 aircraft with the remainder used as spares. The airline recently extended its CPA with American for another five years through the end of 2025. The aircraft are predominantly owned by Mesa Airlines, the ch-aviation fleets ownership module shows, with 15 dry-leased from Bombardier Services and one from Aviator Capital.

THAT Mesa?

NK is better for that fact that nobody would every have to sit next to you on a four day trip. We wouldn’t have to hear how you went into the lav and out your special plug in with the old logo. Nor would we have to hear how cadets are superior to all aviators. I think NK sounds better and better each day.

I think there was some fear about yoking themselves to a sinking ship, especially if - as seemed likely - they would be giving up slots and gates to do it.

There’s a good explanation on the AA thread which talks about focus cities as well as avoiding JB flying being put on AA RJ’s.
