Saw that this morning and the only thought I had was, "Really"?

I am sure the company is enjoying themselves. But hey more upgrades is more upgrades and can't complain about it at this point.

Is 10 upgrades a relatively low number or decent?

Considering we just had a vacancy of 87 last month, I mean...2 weeks ago.

This is probably because of the 5 planes coming back in May to the line.

So that's 97 YTD. Should be another 103 later this year.

There were 79 upgrades on the last bid. This bid may not net 10 upgrades or it could yield more with backfill. Last bid had advertised 87 but Backfills weren't enough to make it 87 upgrades.

Alright, I have a couple CDO/SD questions from a reserve stand point.

If a pilot on 1900 RAP bids for a trip the following day and confirms it at 1700 then is he released from his 1900 RAP before it starts?

Also, I know we can't be assigned a SB past noon on our last day but can we be assigned a 1900 rap on our last day? And if we decline the JM what are the consequences( if any)?

You are only released the day before if you confirm an actual flight assignment. RAPs don't count unfortunately. If your RAP hasn't started yet, I believe that still applies.

Yes, you can be assigned a 1900 RAP on your last day but only until 23:59.

Declining a JM? Not sure...maybe a carpet dance.

Not sure if this was posted yet:

RE: 1Q16 Update: A busy quarter for Envoy!

The first three months of 2016 are now under our belt, and I’m pleased to say there have been a number of positive developments for Envoy:

 Last Friday, we announced that all Air Operations employees earned the maximum $300 quarterly payout from the Performance Bonus Plan, so be on the lookout for that to hit your ePays on April 29. We’ve exceeded all of our key performance targets this year, which is a testament to all of your hard work and commitment! Envoy continues to outperform American’s other regionals, and I assure you they follow that performance carefully.

 New Embraer 175 aircraft continue to roll off the assembly line and arrive at Envoy each month – we’re up to 10 E175s in the fleet, with the next one arriving in mid-April. In January, we completed our proving runs and gained FAA approval to add the E175 to Envoy’s operating specs a full four weeks before scheduled service began. And we’ve now operated more than 1,700 flights without a single controllable cancellation – that’s an outstanding achievement for a new fleet.

 In addition to the new fleet, we announced last month that five aircraft will return to Envoy in time for the May schedule – including two E145s being operated by ExpressJet and three E140s from storage. In February, American advised that the transfer of CRJ-700 aircraft from Envoy to PSA had been deferred, and we expect to continue operating all 35 of our existing CR7s through the end of 2016. Taken together, this adds 10 aircraft to our fleet plan for 2016 and every aircraft we add to our fleet represents more Captain upgrade opportunities. To date this year we have awarded 110 new Captain positions with projections around 230 for the entire year.

 Some unexpected – but very welcome – news came late last month, with the announcement by AAG that they would reinstate profit sharing for all eligible employees of AAG companies. Five percent of all pre-tax profits each year will be shared with the employees who contribute to the corporation’s success – including Envoy. There’s more information on my.envoyair.com.

 Since the beginning of the year, 90 Envoy pilots have flowed through to continue their career at American Airlines – with another 28 headed to American in April. That brings the total of Envoy pilots who have joined American through this program to 876, representing 66% of all of American Airlines’ new hires since 2010. Given that AA receives more than 100 applications for every pilot they choose to hire off the street, our guaranteed flow-through gives you a tremendous competitive edge.

 Hiring has continued to grow, having added another 50 new pilots this quarter. Additionally, we have seen a marked increase in applications and interviews with our recently announced signing bonus for pilots with 121 experience of up to $15,000. As many carriers are struggling and parking aircraft, Envoy is growing and offers what many of our competitors cannot – a seamless path to fly for the world’s largest airline, American Airlines.

 To further enhance our hiring efforts, we introduced the Cadet Program in January that builds upon our existing Pilot Pipeline program. By offering incentives to aspiring student pilots while they’re still in school, we can encourage them to start their life-long career at Envoy. And in addition to the $5,000 signing bonus all new hire pilots receive – Envoy is now offering up to $10,000 more for new hire pilots who have Part 121 commercial air carrier experience. This bonus is designed to assist experienced pilots transition to Envoy’s industry-leading career path.

 Envoy’s current First Officers are the future of our airline – with our current rate of career progression, our FOs will upgrade to become the Captains of tomorrow and flow through to American Airlines to continue their flying career. In recognition of their dedication to Envoy – and to ensure these experienced pilots choose to remain with us – we introduced a retention bonus of up to $20,000 for all Envoy First Officers on payroll March 1, which will continue for two years, payable in $2,500 increments following the end of each three month period.

As I said, it’s been a busy time for Envoy – and with our outstanding performance in recent weeks, I expect continued good news coming our way. No other regional carrier can boast of a growing fleet, outstanding training program, a guaranteed “single interview’” path to fly for the world’s largest airline and the best team of pilots in the industry. Thanks for all you do!

Fly safe,
Captain Ric Wilson
Vice President – Flight Operations

Thanks for the info Ryan.

Ever since AMR filed bankruptcy, things really went downhill at Eagle. Although envoy will likely never be as good as it was pre-bankruptcy, things are definitely getting much better.

Under Doug Parker, the Flow has worked as the contract dicates while we parked airplanes. We are now getting aircraft back while still flowing pilots to AA. The recent move to continue to allow 10 flows per month to go while the last of the furloughed pilots return is more evidence that AAG will make the flow work.

I'm sure the Reverend is writing his Sermon as we speak. He can't let any positive news about envoy circulate without it gloom and doom prophesies.
