A B-scale, at the regionals no less. It's something that runs in the blood at American.

Doug did work with Crandall back in the 90s shortly after that b-scale bs at AA.

Isn't the contract itself one of those "rug" things?

The pilot group as a whole is generally still disgruntled. The super senior guys could care less, but hate and distrust the company for what they have done. The guys soon to flow see the light at the end of the tunnel, but hate and distrust the company for what they have done. The average FO I fly with is looking for a way out rather than wait for the flow, and hates and distrusts the company for what they have done.

It's pretty much "I hate this place and will do as little as possible". You can see that mentality in the gate agents, the ground workers, and even middle management. Everyone does just enough not to get fired. The product has gone down the tubes.

But somehow we still dupe a few individuals every month into this amazing flow! I say dupe because no one discusses how long they will be crew scheduling a ***** in reserve, or how few days off per month they will be getting.
I would say that this is pretty accurate. There are a handful who are more the cheerleading type, but the majority seem to fit into the above description.

Remember, though, that we have had pretty awesome on time/completion stats in recent months. I've heard from union people that the company interprets those numbers to mean everything is just fine with employee morale. In reality most of have just given up and don't want to get hassled, and so the brakes get dropped. We are a pretty broken pilot group (morale-wise) but the numbers are good so management says "ops check good."

I disagree with dropping the break. If it's not the crew's fault then I've never seen anyone hesitate to put in the delay code. And surprise - if you do that then you don't get hassled.

Your last sentence is incorrect in my experience.

A lack of information in the M51 will still get you a call. I have yet to get a call any time I enter a description in the remarks.

Yup, I make sure M51 with descriptions get sent as soon as there is a station delay. (Looking at you PDT!) just because they don't care doesn't mean I am going to take the delay for you.

If they call me inquiring about a delay I'll be sure to return the communication in the same time frame that they return mine.

I'm still waiting on returned phone calls from last summer and emails from two weeks ago.
