[QUOTE=warhawk97;2202471]Anyone care to explain Envoy's commuter policy. Also, heard that all new hires are going to ORD so how long to get DFW as a CRJ driver? Thanks.

Never, CRJ is only based in ORD

You're right, I skim things very quickly, it is needed on these forums to separate the flames, trolls, good advice, kool-aid, and anger.

You are provided 4 hotels per month for commuting if you need it. Our commuting policy is that you leave yourself two flights to get to work. If you can't get on either one you are in the clear.

The CRJ is ORD based only. If you want DFW bid either the 145 or 175. Even if you get ORD on the 145 you can transfer back to DFW.

That's disingenuous and not exactly how that works and you know it. I'm not saying that the recent announcement isn't good news for the WOs, but you honestly do more harm than good on here with the things you tout. It looks and sounds obviously disingenuous to anyone who has been in this industry more than a year.

DFW does not have a CRJ base, only ORD. As an FO, you would be stuck in ORD if you chose that aircraft. The 145 has a base in both ORD and DFW, so if your goal is to get back to DFW, choose the 145. As to how long, I can't answer that. My guess is a couple months at the most if hiring is robust, if it isn't, then it could be awhile. It all depends.

The commuter policy supplies you with six commuter issues per year. You need to attempt two flights before you are covered. Keep documentation, i.e. Boarding passes, PNRs, and so on. You will not be paid for any flying you miss, however, if you choose, you can use vacation days from the next year to cover any loss of pay. If you are caught in traffic on the way to the airport, the chief pilot may work with you at his discretion. It happened to me once when I was LGA based and it was all worked out.

Skyvector, Thanks for the clarification. Was told that there would be no bids on 175 for new hires for several months. Have a CRJ rating already but want to avoid the ORD commute as soon as possible.

Believe it or not, I want to be educated about every regional for my friends sake. I have a friend who wants to come to Mesa, and I have been trying my damnedest to convince him that Envoy would be in his best interest or any other regional where you will have more pay, better benefits, possible flow, etc. I am putting any petty rivalries to the side for my friends own best interest. He's still adamant about coming to Mesa...

If you get the CRJ the you are stuck in ORD. CRJ is only based in ORD. If you get the Emb 145 then it will take 1-365 days to get Dfw. It all depends on how many they hire after you.

Commuter policy- two attempts to get here before your sign in and you are safe. You can use it two times per year.

Please cite examples of times that there have been upgrades corresponding to the number of captains leaving each month.
