Did I miss an HI6 or company email? All this talk of displacements and proffering and whatnot but I didn't see anything.

So, let's see if I read the CBA right. I'm a DFW 175 FO, and have only put in a bid for DFW 175 CA and already meet the legal mins to upgrade. If they don't get enough takers to fill all the CA positions, can they force me to upgrade into another base or equipment?

That would seem to be correct. So make your displacement preference DFW 175 CA followed by ORD 175 CA (so that you could later base transfer back to DFW). After that, choose your poison.

Wow. In 8 years in 121 across 3 airlines I've never heard of a company being able to FORCE someone to upgrade. Obviously it can happen in the other direction, but wow.

15.G.4 seems to indicate that they will start from the bottom of the seniority list and work upwards if they do actually do this?

It wasn't a displacement. The company referenced CBA 15. G. 4. This talks about insufficient bidders for a vacancy. Essentially it's displacing a pilot but it's not a displacement. From what I'm reading it shouldn't matter what displacement bids you have in. It simply takes the most junior pilot qualified for that position and awards said pilot to he unfulfilled spot.

I'm really interested in what the company/union puts out on this. There needs to be information that comes out quick on the issue.

Thanks. When did this happen? I don't remember seeing any HI6 that had such a reference and I just went back through my company emails the last couple days. Just trying to fill in the gap on whatever it was I missed.

Where do I put the name of the person that is referring me to make sure he gets the $5000? Didn't want to screw that up and figured this thread would be the quickest answer. Thanks in advance!
