As soon as you want to be CA then you can get the upgrade if you have prior 121 time. You need 1000 hrs of 121 time to upgrade. Envoy has the best travel benefits. Pay is going to be about the same. Reserve will be short for both.

I'm in the same boat. You are likely from Texas as well. I don't think we would be able to hold 175 DFW. Essentially they are displacing 175 DFW to 175 ORD without calling it a displacement. That paragraph is extremely sketchy. How can they have a displacement without calling it a displacement. The term "qualified pilots" is used in this paragraph. FOs aren't qualified CAs. The company is reaching very far to think they can force someone to upgrade.

This could be a dumb question, as I know you can’t change aircraft as an FO, but if they are unable to fill the 80 FO spots are they going to displace current FOs off of the 145 in order to fill them? Or would they leave the spots open and just fill them via new hire classes? I’m on the 145 and wouldn’t mind getting the 175 in ORD but just unclear on what they do if they can’t fill all the spots.

There is no reason to move people from one aircraft to another. Same as any of the other vacancies. There are no new aircraft. Envoy has qualified pilots and more new pilots coming in and means to train them. They are not going to let FOs switch aircraft.

Out of curiosity, if one doesn't want to upgrade, how about at IOE just keep handing the aircraft over to the instructor?

V1, rotate, YOUR AIRCRAFT!!!!

Can the company really do anything?

Well there is 60 FOs that could take all those slots in ORD on Monday and eliminate all this bs..
