St. George has been managing this side for 6 years now. They have a symbiotic relationship, and everyone knows it. My MEC figured out long ago that when you work WITH the company to achieve mutual goals everyone prospers. SGU is willing to work with us. They are not willing to work with the side saying max pay to the last day.

Yes. You are a liar. I'm a fair, though. Show us one example of your group moving off the position of retaining your PBS or nothing, and I'll reconsider. Otherwise its only the XJT group that has been re-educating its group on the merits of leaving behind the old system. We have nice, colorful Powerpoint presentations courtesy of McKnight...I want to see the ones your MEC made.

I'll let your words stand on their own Tony. Everyone should study them carefully.

Your side pushing SmartPref or nothing isn't meeting in the middle! That was your opening position when McK started pushing it a year ago! The facts, truth, whatever you want to call it is that SmartPref is not a viable system for primary bidding. It can barely even handle your secondary bidding! Yet your side refuses to move off this position of "SmartPref or current line bidding". It's being used as a poison pill. That's not compromising anything. And if we ask SKW which side is more reasonable, we all know what the answer is.

You can shout from the mountaintops all you want to. They've already heard you in St. George loud and clear. BOHICA is all I can say. We warned you.
Wow! Amazingly CaptainTony, you and I agree on something! This push for SmartPerf has gone on too long. They have been telling us that we will be using it for Phase Two bidding since November last year. Over a year later we still haven't used it as it still isn't ready. If we are pushing for SmartPerf or nothing then we are shooting ourselves in the foot. PBS can work well as long as the correct parameters are used. QoL if fully dependent on a good contract and work rules, not the medium used to deliver schedules. I will happily go to a PBS system as long as I can maintain my quality of life. This means duty rigs and a moderate pay increase, nothing earth shattering.

It has been openly acknowledged that ASA's PBS is more costly than the XJT line bidding, so I find that argument flawed, but if the L-XJT MEC is willing to risk all our jobs over an unproven PBS system, then I am not happy. Likewise, if they are turning down positions for our possible furloughs to go to the ASA side, then they are not acting in our best interests.

The only real problem with all of this is that it's based on hearsay and nothing else.

We know your position. Your rhetoric on here suggests to everyone which side is building the brick wall. Somehow your new Eagle contract is a symbol of a "wink, nod" endorsement of the ASA groups negotiation tactics. Yet during the first 2 years of this merger, L-XJT grew at a steady clip, and hired nearly 1000 pilots...none of this has to do with negotiations.

BOHICA is right. UAL/CAL has been playing the block hour game with us about every 2 years going back a decade. Nothing to see here.
Ive been flying here 2 years now and really NO ONE I have talked to is against PBS. Yes there are reservations of course, but most are open to the idea, as far as I can tell, as long as there is contract language to prevent getting butfukced.

McK is brainwashing you. Never get all of your info from a single source. Have you ever considered why he's so dead set on SmartPref? Could there be some personal agenda?

As for my side moving off of Flightline, why should we? The company has already agreed to it! And they've already modified it to the point that both sides are going to be satisfied with it moving forward. The only thing the company didn't like was vacation low, which will survive, but won't be as much of a windfall as it currently is.

This is still lost on the ASA group. We'd have a new contract very quickly once they embrace the fact that the Straw Man their MEC has built is in fact a Straw Man.

Which is why you should engage the demonstrators the next time they are in the crew room showing off SmartPref.

What incentive would either side or the company have to get these contracts done and SLI accomplished if we keep sliding guys back and forth to either side whenever it's needed? I agree, if they need the cost savings then make them spend the money to furlough and then recall and retrain. I'm sick of this cat and mouse game.

Like I said, we're not incapable of being sold on a system, even yours. But why should you? Because its holding up the CBA. Sell us on it and you won't have to move on it. "Pound Sand" is not a way to sell us.
