Correct me if I'm wrong (And not to start another PBS debate) but does this mean you haven't seen your December schedules yet?

You are correct. We don't have them yet for ATL FO's but that has nothing to do with PBS.

It has everything to do with PBS.

I am impartial when it comes to PBS. The reason for the delay is the company's ineptitude and a terrible contract that doesn't allow us to get our final schedules until ridiculously late in the month. I'd love to hear your explanation of why you think it's PBS. The same thing consistently happened under line bidding.

Ok you called my bluff...kind of.
Under line bidding the solutions were much easier. These solutions were run right away on the 15th and the schedules were posted. This delay is a computer "glitch" that has to due with training schedules. This would not have been a big issue under the simpler line bidding, plus it would have been discovered right away instead of days later after the company and union debate over the proper solution. It's definitely a company issue that get emphasized by PBS.
My apologies, I'm still fired up that this keeps happening.

First off - our line bidding (Maybe not the one you had) still comes out early. People get pretty upset when the bid packets don't come out ontime. So maybe it was your old set up but ours comes out early.

Second - that needs to change. Whatever bidding system we end up with we need contractual language saying we need it early in the month. Why aren't you guys throwing a fit when you don't even see your next months schedule a week before the month starts?

It does have everything to do with PBS - the company email states, "We encountered a problem with the PBS Award Engine."

This scheduling crap is so annoying. The union needs to seriously put their foot down. Yes, I have complained to the appropriate people. Only the union has the ability to hold people accountable. I understand people make mistakes. But why is it every time they have a scheduling issue it's on the day the schedules are supposed to come out that they realize it.

When the frontline employees have an issue and the operation is delayed, or affected they are expected to stay until the job is complete. I expect this from all departments. Not just flight operations and maintenance. Upon discovery of the issue, the company and the union that gets paid to do their jobs should have committed to the issue instead of heading home.

Must have been nice.

As for the the reduction in block hours, it is not based on a seasonal thing . Its based on info from several years of 10 ks that have shown dates of cpas.

As for being "naive", you have a long way to walk before you have seen as much as I have in this industry.
Considering your failed attempts to educate the DL pilots on what's in their contract, I'd say you have some more walking to do.

It is not a PBS problem. A problem with the PBS Award Engine is like having a problem with your computer while writing a paper in college. Your computer may have an issue the precludes you from being able to type your paper (final draft), although the paper itself is intact (rough draft with edits).
