Hahaaa...Bozo's been here since you were in diapers...and hardly naive.

He speaketh the truth....

Maybe you and Kalamazoo could leave so as to help those new hires get their upgrade sooner.....

I was in the DTW crew lounge last month talking to an FO on RRR. He had been on line for about 2 months if I can remember correctly. He and another guy in there were telling me that during the interview and even through INDOC the company is telling them that upgrades are at 1.5-2 years. Something around there from what I remember. They were truly convinced of this. Kind of sad that the company has to push the lies one step further.

Any new guys care to chime in? What are they telling you?

Although 2 years to go through ~650 pilots is not impossible, the problem is they are painting a best case scenario to anyone who interviews right now. It's not unlikely, but they need more things to fall into place for that to happen (majors hiring, better economy, added contracts and block hours, etc). The thing we all forget is they spewed the same stuff to all of us when we were hired, remember them saying upgrade was 2 years and they were about to waive the company upgrade minimums?? 4-5 years later you still have FOs on reserve depending on their base and plane.

You can't fault them for painting a rosy picture, if they aired on the side of caution people would go over to RAH and there would be no one to push us slowly up the seniority list. It falls on the backs of the new hires to believe the drivel they hear in training. It's nice to see some positivity out of the Atech for once though, it's been a long 4+ years for everyone

Just asking.
Upgrading 500 plus a miracle? And you're the one calling people naive? You do know everyone at ASA is current on the CL-65 and qualified for the short course?

Save this post, because soon you'll quickly be added to Bozo's wall of shame right after the XJT guy that basically called Bozo an liar and that they'll be hiring and upgrading

Were you hired before or after the Age 65 ruling?

They were definitely misleading folks if they said that after age 65 went into effect. Before that upgrade was 2.5 years and dropping.

I'm in Oct 8th class and they haven't told us to expect 1-2 yr upgrades. Just maybe that we might not be one reserve too long with all the hiring happening. And that's more than I expected.

Sounds like you're in one of the first CRJ classes since hiring resumed. If you bid ATL 200 you might not sit reserve at all

An excerpt from a strongly-worded email from our valiant union today:

The Company has contacted Flightline to coordinate a resolution. At this time a delay is expected, however, it is dependent on Flightline correcting the software error within a reasonable period of time. It can be expected the awards for the ATL CR2 and CR7 First Officers will be a day late. LOA 11, Section 13.D.7 Bid Award Error provides the contract language to correct bid award errors that exceed 5% within a position.
Apparently Flightline was too busy working on a patch to prevent us seeing our schedules early (thanks, SureJet) that they weren't able to correct the ETB bug causing the bid award error. And ALPA doesn't seem to be too bothered by it.
