What's the Latest at ASA/Expressjet?

I agree that these talks of 15% raises are not sustainable. All we want is to not take concessions. No concessions in work rules and no concessions in pay. Talking to one of our negotiators recently, management is expecting us to bring everything down to ASAs current contract. I'm not trying to be one of those sticklers who doesn't listen to anyone, but I'm sorry I will never vote for this, regardless of the implications. We've lost too much already. Please, lets just keep what we have or better. We are all profitable now, so obviously its possible.

It's pretty easy fellas, No concessions. That is all. This thread was alright before all the "Get on board" talk from the usuals. SMH.

Not to mention the fact if they did this, our union would sue the company and would win.

Cool blanket statement bro. Why can't we all be friends? I think we need to have a pilot-sponsored beer fest. Guarantee a JCBA would be done in a week.

Except that the L-XJT group would be demanding Saint Arnold Elissa IPA, and threaten to shut down the party if they don't get it, while we're all polishing off a keg of Natty Light and laughing at them.

I am very concerned that some people don't realize that negotiations require give and take on both sides. This will not come down to a situation where the company gives and we take. Reality dictates that we MAY have to give up in one area to get something in another. The goal is to have a better OVERALL contract for everyone, not sticking on one point when we have may have made other gains. This is supposed to be a stepping stone, not a destination. Let's make it a good stepping stone and move on when the time comes.

I doubt it. I have friends who are Republicans, and all the chicken and beer in the world won't convince them to vote for Obama. I'm all for give and take, as long as we keep things rational. SmartPref throws all forms of rational out the window. Complete waste of the L-XJT MEC's time and resources.
