Skywest is the best financed regional out there right now. The most attractive lease rates, the largest fleet of crj700's 900's in the world also give them the economies of scale for cheap operating costs, and the security of dealing with a company that won't be going out of business. Delta is only the DIP financing for Pinnacle. If you read about DIP financing they are usually the vultures of the industry. If the company liquidates they are the first to get paid before any other creditor. They do not care about Pinnacle but could not allow them to disappear overnight.

Exactly. Not to mention that RAH isn't looking that great at the moment either. I read a few news articles where RAH stated that unless their finances change significantly they re headed for ch.11 as well. Skywest it seems is he only operator with cash, the ability to expand, and the ability to stay around as a cheap player.

No one is denying that, but the difference between some of us and the rest of you generation entitlement is that I don't expect other pilot groups to pay for my misfortunes. If the roles were reversed I would not expect the crj guys to pay for it if they can help it.
So the reality still stands, we'll know the results of the Delta TA, and vote accordingly, but if you think I'm going to turn my back on my brothers to save another pilot group, you're delusional!

When I was hired, I just so happened to be placed in an ATL CRJ FO position. You're whole premise of "protecting XJET jobs" is flawed. Please just remember that next time you want to throw around your "legacy XJET ways!"

Then leave. There's the door, since you're the epitome of maturity why don't you move on to a more "mature" environment in aviation (notice the irony in that sentence).
Here's what's going on though as I type this, our guys on ERJ are starting to realize why everyone is in a hurry to close this deal, and it doesn't bode well for us; so we'll just slow down for a bit and wait. If the Delta TA goes through, don't expect a TA to pass on our side unless there are significant job protections and QOL improvements. Not in a hurry, we have a good contract on the ERJ side. As far as I'm concerned we can just keep operating separately permanently!

A little change of topic....
Do any of you look at the pilot attrition data the company has begun putting out? I cant help but notice th number of "terminations" this year. I have been here just over 5 years and I can only recall 1...maybe 2 people being let go. 5 seems like a lot. No?
Any insight on why these people are getting "terminated"? (NO names please..)

Buffalo has taught them that an atrocious training record is now a liability for the company.
When this happens the union gets involved and typically the person is offered the option to quit or they do something like give said person a permanent leave of absence.
Long story short study for your checkrides.
