So it sounds like our good buddy goaround2000 is just blowing smoke. We both have good things in our contracts.

I'm holding down reserve and in March I had vacation. With our system I am able to hold a line during vacation months which are always two 4days or a 4day and a 3day. I was on reserve the last 5 days of February. I got awarded a line that consisted of a 3day starting on the 1st day of March and a 4day at the end of the month. We cant work 7 days in a row so that 3 day got turned into a One day. I worked 5 days in March and got paid 75 hours.

Jetblast, lets say during a vacation month you are going to work the least amount of days as possible, how many days would this be?

And thanks for explaining some numbers instead of just saying we can swing your gear and we have a pos contract.

The best I've done I believe is 5 days of work for the month at 75 hours. Using two weeks I was able to get a straight 40 days off. The biggest thing I like about our rules though is I can get all this time off and pick up 2 more days of work and get paid 90 hours. If I'm able to get a line where I only work 5 or 6 days, I can work 8 days and get paid 90 hours. Like I said, if we work to combine the best of both I think we can have something pretty good.

Sounds like the best thing you guys have over ASA is that anything added if your below 75 gets added on top (We need this) and the 3 hour max deduct for conflicting trips going into the next month (We need this too). Otherwise with our PBS I used one week vacation and blocked only 33 hours for the month and got paid 75 (one 3 day and one 4 day). Now this then makes it impossible to pick anything up because it gets added to the 33 hours of block I was at. So I would essentially need to work 42 hours for "free." Aside from that I'd say I could easily get 40 off in a row if I paired up 2 months consecutively doing this (but two 75 hours months would mean a crappy pay check).
Also, I dont see combining the very best of our two contracts into one happening. I'd LOVE for this to happen, but this would be a contract that would destroy any other regional out there and I suspect our costs would be comparatively too high. (Good luck getting on GoJet or Pinchanickle or RAH's levels when it comes time for an RFP). Pilot pay can't BK a company, but in the regional world I can see it making us relatively more costly, and thus not making us competitive in our industry. That CAN lead to a BK or stagnation over time. Im not a lifer (just sayin) but lets just get this contract done and enjoy some more flying.....

Hey, Red i'll just keep what I have then. Still one if the best contracts in the industry, and u guys can keep your delta flying. Oh snap! What did I just read your 200's R gonna B parked? Enjoy the street till U come around and when you do we will welcome you back as the team play the majority expects. Wake up son and realize were dug in and ready to battle with management to keep what we have and if we as a group stick together there's nothing you can say to get us to step down to your world.

ASA looked at our books and bid on UAL flying and aquired a 10 year CPA. So they could make a profit under our current contract then why not now? You don't go into it with the belief your gonna take away. You have to plan for increas in cost. Now to the meat and potatoes and my point, your ATP cost money and without them there is no ASA/EXPRESSJET remember that guys this company need your ticket and what are you willing to sell your sweet and sacrifice for?

Wow.

1. The TA hasn't even passed yet.
2. Even if it does no one knows who's 200's are going to be parked, or how many from each carrier. So me being on the "street" isnt going to happen. In my situation over 50% of ASA would need to be parked.
3. The TA calls for an increase in 70 and 76 seat aircraft (not as many to offset the loss of the 200's buts its a step in the right direction).
4. You act as if United will forever be in love with your old 50 seat ERJ's. EVERYONE knows 50 seat airplanes are going to be parked and larger RJs are the future, its economics. Hmmmm, isnt ALL of L-XJT's airplanes 50 seaters? I'd be concerned... (dont expect all your 50's to be replaced with larger airframes overnight, when they start shedding the 50's you will be in ASA's position, possibly shrinking)
5. The TA that Delta is proposing isnt out of left field. The wind down of the 200 flying was going to happen, everyone knew it and has for a while.
6. Continental pilots want all their outsourced flying back. Their union (also ALPA) was pushing to retract all your flying pre merger with United. You act as if your contract is iron clad and there are no exceptions that allow for a decrease in your airframes (either a strait reduction or a 2 for 1 or worse, etc type deal). Nothing is certain other than the dumb fat and highest paid pilots in the regional sector usually dont sit there forever. Then have fun on the "street."

Have fun "digging in" and "getting ready for battle." You sound like like a 5 year old kid in a candy store crying to his mommy. Everyone wishes you'd just S T F U.

In my above post I was making a logical observation and drawing some obvious conclusions. Have fun "digging in" though.

That's the most sane thing I've read on these boards. I wasn't picking on you, btw... it was reacharound2000 who kept running his mouth about our POS contract with our duty and trip rigs, 3.86 min day and vacation low that gave me three+ weeks off with one week of vacation last year while preserving my 75 hour guarantee.

Someone apparently doesn't deserve their "English Language Proficiency" endorsement... But I think I could decipher the illiteracy enough there to understand that your maturity level is well below average as well. I'm sure that isn't the norm for pmXJT guys; perhaps you're just a flight attendant.

It just so happens that the 50 seat issue is happening in the Delta world rather than the United world. Don't think for a minute United is exempt from this and expect United to follow Delta's footsteps. It's easy to sit on your "secure" high horse and talk trash about our Delta flying but we've been operating mostly nothing but Delta for over 30 years so the games that go on are not new to us. If the 50 seat possibilities were on the United side you wouldn't be smiling so much over there would you?

Bottom line is that anything that happens in the Delta system is also your problem, that much is 100% certain. I understand the shooting for the moon concept and applaud you guy's for being that way as I think it will push the unions to go after good things for us while still remaining reasonable in the business aspect. If you're looking to get paid 120 hrs while working 30 then you REALLY need to work on your expectations. I don't mind working for my money but certainly want things in the contract to protect the pilot group from abuse.

P.S. Pardon me from not reading red's post before posting as my view's reflect some of the same posted in his reply.

This legacy ASA guy listened to and spoke with an MEC rep in ATL and I fully expect a concessionary contract for both sides, even though we have more leverage now than possibly ever before. Their only concern, as I see it, is a few bucks for the senior guys and continuing the measly 1% raise a year for those same guys topped out on the scale. I explained to one of those guys the other day that every year he's losing atleast 2% in purchasing power per dollar. His retort was "well, 1% is quite a bit of money when your topped out on the scale". This is what we have to deal with in this sector of the industry :/
