What's the real world? I wasn't aware that I was part of an FSX Airline edition forum.

Prior to my current position at ExpressJet, I was in management, in the private sector of a different industry. So, I'm not blowing smoke but rather stating things from experience.

However, I will agree that I have no experience in the private aviation sector or a lot of the other industries. Maybe you are right and I'm wrong. In any case, I would like to be proven wrong that management (airline, healthcare & local government) does not get any type of raise year after year. In proving me wrong, it will hopefully benefit the workforce that sustains a company.

Cost of living increases are common in Govy, healthcare, military, and some financial sectors. Most smaller firms with 100 or fewer employees don't play that tune. The two assistant Art Director's in my company had to wait about 30 months before we could afford to give them raises. Granted, we became more profitable and the increase in pay was better than a 1-2% cost of living increase. Thankfully, they had the patience and work ethic to hang in there and wait. I guess my point was, and I could very well be wrong, it is a bit of a generalization to assume that annual raises for managers is the rule in most smaller firms. The majority of managers I know get salary bumps when profits are up, and only when profits are up. And often those bumps come in the form of a one time bonus.

I kinda just sat in the back and giggles when they said that. I guess for bidding, each company will have 2 year to use their own, but L-XJT has those 2 years to develop something that is as good, or better than PBS and prove it. If they don't then they go to PBS and they are stuck with it for the duration of the new contract, and the following contract.

If there is a following contract..........

I have a feeling with the way things are going ASA-XJT won't be around all that much longer (relative). With performance numbers in the tank, attrition only going to get worse, no new hires to fill classes, and aircraft leaving. It almost seems like the smart thing for Skywest to do is cut their losses and slowly start taking over our routes with E175. If anybody here listened to the Skywest earnings call, you probably heard one of the main investors asking "why is Skywest continually giving resources to the sister companies when they keep losing money and Skywest itself is posting profits." You could tell from their answer that they were kind of jumping around the question.

From a business standpoint it makes sense but I know they are trying to fulfill that "Super Regional" motto of theirs. Maybe others have better insight but that is just my opinion.

Because it was a question asked by someone who doesn't fully understand the business and the company. XJT has made enormous progress since the merger was announced and just had a slight set back due to weather. Merger synergeries are only halfway complete and XJT is already a break even company during normal operations. XJT will be profitable in 2014, as the E175 comes on property and United and AMR flying expands. Count on it.

DL5610 was cancelled and downgraded to a 200 operated as DL5611. The crew of 5610 deadheaded PHL-MEM-ATL-PHL. The most inefficient, asinine thing I've seen in a while.

ExpressJet homepage under the performance section you can see 28 cancels have already happened today or 9.4%......I'm pretty sure completion factor plays a role in here somewhere.

They don't count against as far as penalties but I also think the revenue is a loss too. If you don't do the flight, you don't get paid. I could be wrong though. Do they get cancelation pay? Anyone?

I would think that if it was a Delta request cancellation, we would still be paid.
