Does ALPA really want to stop the whipsaw Nevets? Looks like your ALPA brothers at PSA just agreed to a TA with concessionary 900 rates.....probably with a nice shiny flowthrough scheme attached....

So that makes it ok for Skywest pilots? Did you just rationalize whipsawing? Do two wrongs ever make a right? Will Skywest pilots ever do the right thing for the betterment of this segment of our profession? Will they ever lead? Are there any other excuses left?

Anyway, assuming you are correct, Skywest pilots can still stop the whipsaw from our CEO, even if another pilot group has decided to exacerbate it.

And to add to that, recently read at DNN that once all the 717's come on-line, they plan on limiting the few remaining RJ routes to 350 miles.

it would probably be beneficial to get to the acceptance stage that ATL is a dying base. The line between line holders and reserves on the 700 is spring 2008 hires. For those of us on the losing end of seniority we need to think beyond ATL.

What's happening in ATL? I thought ExpressJet (ASA) had to have 80% of daily DCI departures.

It didn't "rationalize" anything.....Whipsawing, also known as competition is a reality. The SkyWest pilots are not the main reason we have pressure on our pay and workrules....Fellow union carriers are putting more pressure on us than the SkyWest pilots are. Mesa, GoJets, Eagle, and especially Pinnacle are putting the most pressure on us. You need to start accepting the reality that your union is more at fault than the SkyWest pilots...However I doubt your ALPA rose colored glasses will allow you to see through the BS that Herndon spews your way...

No they can't. There will still be pressure on Inc. from the much lower cost union carriers that have much lower costs. In addition, even if they were union, you would have to buy a single list....and that won't come cheap. I suspect the majority wouldn't be willing to pay that price on either side of the fence....
