What's the Latest at ASA/Expressjet?

Joe. January is going to be a cluster and you know it. This is going to be worse than when the FAs had separate trips and we swapped them every leg. The company is totally unprepared, and way behind airlines of similar size. They have no idea how they're going to write compliant pairings, and have no clue how many pilots will be needed to staff them. Not to mention increasing reserves. Speaking of which, I expect to reserve staffing of 30% come January. That's how they plan to deal with it (like all their other self created crises). Just throw more reserves under the bus.
The pairings won't change much on the 70/90. Pairings on the 50 will suck because of these dumb changes we advocated for. I will be bidding over to the 70 for better trips.
I don't think everyone is factoring in how much ATL flying is going away as the 50 seaters are taken out of the system.

I dont see why new software is needed. Just plug the new parameters/limiations into the pairing generation software we have. I am already seeing more pairings that have exactly 10 hour overnights instead of the typical 8-9.

There should be a displacement/vacancy bid coming out in the next 2 weeks. Approximately 35 CRJ ATL displacements with the same number of vacancies elsewhere in the system (primarily CR7).

This I agree with. A lot of people are in for a shock... in a year or two, ATL will be our smallest base. MD88s and A319s are flying to all the old ATR cities. The 717 is only going to hasten the demise of the RJ. This isn't a good place to be a lifer.

Good luck ever breaking guarantee again on the 200, if you dont work 3-4 extra days/mo. 75 will be all you get. The Colgon crash will be the worst thing that has ever happened to our productivity and $$$. However, if you looooove long overnights in Shreveport, Baton Rouge and Springfield....then this is the job for you!
