They cancelled the awards and cried poor because they have to create the illusion that we are teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. Wake me up when everyone in management takes a 40% pay cut and they start running the company from SGU. Until then, it's all negotiations motivated window dressing.

And I promise they told everyone in the GO that they cancelled it because those greedy pilots get paid too much.

No we are not on the edge of bankruptcy, but with another rate reset by Delta coming soon, they might threaten to shut us down when we really start bleeding money. Inc cannot declare bankruptcy without dragging SkyWest Airlines down with us. They cannot transfer assets without bringing on merger proceedings. So what would you do if you were JA or BR?

Is there anything stopping them from shutting us down? Is there any historical precedent where a holding company has 2 subsidiaries - one profitable and one not making money - and they shut down the unprofitable subsidiary?

I just pray that unlike pinnacle, we at Expressjet have the balls (no offense, ladies) to stand up and say that if you expect us to continue the race to the bottom, you'll have to find someone else to cave in. I'd really rather go find another career than aid management in gutting this one any further. And for those that say its easy to talk tough until its my paycheck on the line, I hope I get the chance to put my money and my vote where my mouth is. If those before us (pinnacle/endeavor) had done so, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

And oh, by the way, management. Good luck trying to fill regional cockpits now that you've made this job so unattractive, you can't even consistently fill new hire classes...

I've heard the rate reset went away when we agreed to this latest 2 for 1 airplane swap. Anyone else?

We did, but it will not continue. To keep their much "deserved" salary raises they have to cut programs. I would like to see a lot of management jobs at A-tech be justified. The question is, can this be done from sgu?

Corporate greed is really changing we do, everything!

MAIR bankrupted Mesaba Airlines while preserving the holding company, and its other subsidiary. Research it.

And the fragmentation clause in our contract only kicks in if the airplanes are transferred directly to SkyWest Airlines. If they're returned to the lessor, then leased back to SkyWest, we have no claim. In fact, they already did this with the -200s they're flying in PHX.

Also, wouldn't Brads recent raise more than cover all of the programs? Gotta wonder how much of this is a pony show for the negotiations.
It is something to throw on the resume which is better than nothing. Do we really need an awards ceremony? I have known a few of the winners from the past and two in this round and every one of them has been excellent to work with. I think just the recognition of a job well done is enough.
