The combination of ASA/XJT was estimated at 60 million, don't know the rate (meAning monthly, annually, or total), my guess skyw/XJT merger would at the very least double that.

Skywest will never let Skywest merge with expressjet and ASA. They will always try to play the pilot groups against each other. I hope that you guys can get the best contract possible, but for a pilot group that wants skywest pilots to back them The dumb "mainline" comments and skypest on the radio are not helping make your point. Most guys don't look at these boards, and these guys could really help or hurt relations between the companies.

In that case Burn it to the Ground. The only way I will take a cut here is if there is some sort of equal division of future flying between SKYW, ASA, and XJT to lessen the effect of the whipsaw. Fair Enough?

Is that the new excuse now? Who cares if someone says Skywest mainline or Skypest or whatever else hurts your sensibilities. Despite all that, if you don't know that the current situation adversely affects both sides, then THAT is what hurting our relations. If you guys decide to make SAPA your NMB recognized bargaining agent and demand one list in negotiations, we would all have the upper hand!

Skywest pilots! Do you honestly want to Stop The Whipsaw (STW)? If you do, then NOTHING LESS than one list will not suffice! If you are not for one list, the you do not want to stop the whipsaw and you continue to be the problem to this segment of the industry.

NO NOT FAIR ENOUGH! The only way to prevent the whipsaw is to have ONE LIST. Why settle for ANYTHING less? Otherwise they will loophole us into continued whipsaw. Either you are genuine about burning it down or not with this half a$$ crap.

Being that 30 % of our pilot group is ex alpa that will be a hard sell on this side.

SKYW doesnt have the pilots to cover all our flying and all those 175s arent going to come online for awhile yet. Shut it down if you want... good luck with that. I know I won't be going to "mainline". It'll be time to put the ole business degree to use.
Why did they buy what? SKW bought ASA because it was (then) a cash cow. We pumped a lot of money into SKW Inc. Then came the 2010 DAL "rate reset" where DAL gave ASA a 40% pay cut. No more profits. Then SKW bought XJT, claiming its "synergistic economies of scale" would save ASA. In reality, they wanted to corner the market on regional flying for The New United. They tossed a hail mary for an incomplete pass. Now they will shut this place down, and they will rehire everyone at SkyWest Mainline. I give this process 2-5 years.
