How does SkyWest do all that pro-rate flying for American without a codeshare agreement?

Probabaly because the FFD contracts offset the losses. Don't become snarky with me simply because I corrected you earlier.

I'm sorry but it's a bit presumptuous to think that everyone furloughed will jump at the chance to go to Skywest. If it were me, I would go anywhere else except for Skywest. There are plenty of regionals hiring and Skywest is not the only option.

Embraer can't build them that fast.
United's reputation will only go up with the parking of all those 50 seaters. The days of frequency are going by the wayside and now its all about making more money. Rumor has it UA is keeping 14 757 slated for retirement and we are taking delivery of 3 737 a month. I have no idea how many 175 we are taking a month but there is at least 1 probably 2-3.

Everything gets up gauged and frequency goes down. Passengers get bigger more comfortable aircraft and I doubt they will miss the round trip that goes away.

This is what everyone of us xjt pilots have been saying for YEARS! It's not the labor costs. CC mentioned that when answering questions.

Yep, parking those 50 seaters should be the thing that busts up the statistical tie at the bottom of the JD Powers satisfaction survey.... not improving the crap ass customer service or anything like that... based on that logic, why not park all the planes... your customers would love you then.

It's never the pilot labor costs that make or break an operation, you're 100% correct, it is an easy scape goat though. Ref: Comair. Delta could have kept them around with pocket change, but you know how Delta works.

In regards to the furlough speculation I wrote, looking back on it I probably shouldn't have written it even though I was speculating, I apologize if I made anyone mad. I really don't want anyone to get furloughed as that is a living Hell starting over, especially at a regional. I'm just afraid that could occur with the number of 145s coming offline with the addition of E175s on the SKYW side, assuming a JCBA does not come to fruition anytime soon.

Some positives to take away from the call though...

Well aren't you a ray of sunshine......

I didn't say parking the 50 seaters would win us awards in customer satisfaction, but it sure isn't going to make our numbers worse.

The 50 seater is the worst jet ever introduced into service and they can't die fast enough.

If that happened, no Expressjet pilot on this planet would be dumb enough to go to there.

If I ever get furloughed from XJT, I will never, ever set foot in another airplane associated with that brass-name-tag-wearing, Kool-Aid sipping, Tabernacle-dwelling, union-busting dirt-bag of an airline that is SkyWest Airlines.

I fully expect the L-XJT group to go out like the Stevedores did in the Season 2 finale of "The Wire", ****ing on the ships as the Feds watched them walk away on their last day.

If that's how we have to go out, then I'm all for it. F*ck Inc.
