There you go again acting as if you know what you are talking about.
Let me ask you one question, how many syllables are in the call sign Acey?
You guys really crack me up on here. Really...... When you go down with a few airlines, then you'll get the big picture.
Don't get caught holding the bag! That's all I'm trying to tell you guys..... I hope everyone sold at the 15 to 16 dollar area...... and not STILL holding the bag...

Not as big of a problem to go down with your airline if you have a plan b. I wish everyone had one so they can make decisions without fear.

I hope you're right as I don't want to see anyone on the street, however, if the draw down occurs as rapidly as they say it will, and if SKYW stays true to it's word re: E-175s only flown on their certificate, it only makes sense for them to furlough L-XJT pilots and offer them "preferred interviews" at Skywest as there will be lots of qualified pilots on the street...not to mention, the majors aren't hiring FO's in droves right now, and probably won't for another 2 years, so where are these guys going to go?...the majority will go to SKYW if this scenario plays out.
It just all depends on where they want to take this ExpressJet entity...the only way E-175s end up on the XJT side is if we have a JCBA and they use that as a carrot, which is likely too. L-XJT and
L-ASA will still be operating a large number of 50 seaters even with the drawdown coming, not to mention, there is a huge chance that the E145/CR2's scheduled to come off line are extended due to the fact that UAL and DAL realizing that "whoops, perhaps we do need that flying after all!"
Our size is a huge advantage, and our performance numbers improving is a great upside to where things have been going lately. I do think that the E175 will eventually end up on the XJT side at some point, but probably not in the near future and well after a JCBA is reached, something that is likely to never happen if things keep going the way they are going.

I'm not refuting your point. I was confirming that the ERJs are going bye-bye. Always have, always will. However, the company has invested $20M in CRJ200 engines, so it looks like they will use the CRJ200s Delta no longer wants to negotiate the more favorable terms with United everyone keeps speaking of. If they can't come to contract terms, SkyWest can always do the flying pro-rate instead. The loss of airframes will not be as dramatic as is currently being portrayed

So they tell DL and UA the rates don't work. DL and UA show them the signed contracts, just like the express carriers did to the majors during their own financial troubles. DL and UA will tell SKYW if they want reduce the flying prior to contract expiration, then they will need to pay the penalties outlined in the agreement. Just so happens DL and UA are trying to reduce the number of 50 seaters so they win with the reduction and they get to hit SKYW for a breach of contract.
The cuts are going to be deep and there will be plenty of pilots in the pipeline when this is over to stave off any shortage for quite some time.

The contracts on these 50 seat jets are almost all expiring between now and 2017. UAL and DAL are trying to get SKW to extend these contracts at the money losing rates. SKW is telling UA/DL to pound sand and good luck getting passengers into your hubs or someone else to feed them. SKW is betting that UA/DL have overplayed their hand by removing feed without replacement, and I will put my money with them any day. Yes, the pro rate flying it making beaucoup bucks. Before long, you will see big airplanes with SkyWest on the tail, operating under the OO code competing with you in your largest hubs. How long are you from retirement, gramps?

Some one is drinking some serious OO koolaid.Republic and Expressjet both tried their own branding idea and you see how well it worked for them .And besides if OO ever did put their name on the tail of any larger jets it would mean the end for many As far as career progression. You just don't get it

I heard they are going to change the name to SkyBest for their branded ops. Their slogan will be "Superior Profitability, Superior Service".
