There will be CBT via eCampus coming out soon for the new checklist with the new checklist hitting the line mid-February. Lot's of changes with the new checklist, and people will have to make the effort and put in the time to really learn it. It will be a big transition, and it is hard to break old habits and ways of doing things, and I'm sure there will be people that just won't get with the program (e.g. new stable callout). New Hires in training right now are already using the new checklist and won't even see the one we are using right now.

Been there doucher. Now who's complaining? Have you ever been furloughed? I've been there too. Sounds like you have an entitlement issue to me. News flash, this is a forum and we are pilots that's what we do, complain. So come back when you realize that life isn't fair and this is the airline industry, people get proper ****ed all the time. Don't like it? Go fly a desk then. Life's not fair there either

Possible cures, bullet 2? Well all of it seems ****ty, but that one caught my eye. Can anyone who's been working with this elaborate? What are the XJT ALPA guys saying about that? In case you can't see it, it says, "As the effective credit window narrows, few if any bids will be satisfied."

PUT IN THE HANDS OF THE PILOTS! LET ALL OF US DECIDE!

If i felt entitled id be jumping like the rest of the jackasses to holes like PSA...quit calling those who hate reserve and want to have REGULAR flying like line pilots entitled. we're not all entitled, some just want regular work. If there are guys that complain and hate it so much, bid down to reserve where you don't fly and let people who actually want to work do your job.

[QUOTE=todd1200;1808581]Does that mean that, for example if everybody bids for Christmas off, at a certain point, the system recognizes that due to the ratio of pilots to open trips on the 25th, it cannot keep awarding schedules with Christmas off?[/QUOTE
I'm not sure if this is a serious question or not, but obviously every pilot cannot have Christmas off. The concern is how it not only handles that issue, but what control you have over that scenario. And the fact that a large group, possibly even the entire pilot group, will be awarded whatever the company wants and disregard all of your preferences, even if you are senior enough to hold Christmas off. Where as for us, we have some control over it (unstack bid sheet), there's a limit to who gets unstacked, and it's only 50% of line holders for a holiday month and 30% for non holiday month. Where as globalization can unstack every single pilot every single month if they want to. For example, if large amounts of pilots leave and we are short staffed (more so then we are now), there will be tons of open time and the company will just start ignoring your preferences to fill its needs, so you will have zero control over your schedule.
Some may argue that 50% of line holders is about 70 to 80% of the entire list for that seat and airplane, depending on reserve ratios, which isn't much better then globalization. However, we have more control over it. It doesn't mean that it will go all the way up to the limit, the union over sees it, and someone junior to you doesn't screw you over so that the bid is "fair." I guess there could be language written in to limit how many pilots can be restricted in a month, but it sill doesn't change the fact that if you are restricted, you have zero control over it. I'm not even sure if the Smartpref system would work with it being limited to how many pilots in can restrict.

I can count on one hand the amount of guys I've flown with that know the stable/unstable thing. There's little changes I was told about such as the elimination of an after landing checklist, its just a flow the FO will do. I think the setting of the lights is captain only and now the FO will call the ramp for pushback clearance. But the checklists now and way to read the checklists is suppose to eliminate rote memorization errors and such.
