SkyWest owns us. What would it take to break away? It would take SkyWest willing to sell us and someone with enough money to buy us. It other words don't hold your breath.

so you're saying we couldn't be independently owned? just XJT/ASA? I call b.s. how can we possibly achieve new flying if we're under the heel of a non union company that is achieving new flying and new aircraft? We're parking airplanes as skywest is getting new airplanes.

DL31082 is just stating the obvious. It's highly unlikely anyone is going to put up enough funds to entice Skywest into selling.

Of course we can be independently owned. Who we belong too isn't controlled by the folks in Atlanta, its controlled by the guys/gals in St. George.

True but the fact of the matter is the people in Utah are screwing us over because they're the ones getting more flying while ASA/XJT park planes. I really wish unions would see this and do something about it. Im sure the head cheeses are seeing it too but to be honest it doesn't bode well for us pilots when we sit around and watch. I really am repeating myself with these posts but in all honesty do the people see whats going on?

Am I wrong, or is the pay and benefits on the Skywest side based partly on industry average, but closer to the contracts at Express Jets since they own them? Industry average is now lower. And if Skywest continues to transfer assets/flying to the non union side it gives Inc more control over the pay and benefits on the non union side. In my opinion what would help you guys the most, and the industry for that matter, would be for you guys to merge and operate under one contract.

Just curious what you think the union can do to stop it? Strike? They'll never let us. Picket outside the HQ in St. George?
