let me just say sorry. I have no idea why so many UPS pilots feel the need to chime in here. I know we have many lurking, for obvious reasons. Having been at 5 airlines, bankruptcy, strike, etc etc… I know it’s a tough road. We are all at different points in life which is how companies play it to their advantage. That being said, we are all in this together and I have nothing but respect for your group. Good luck and I hope it’s everything you expect. We had different issues and kicked the van down the road, so our hill climb is ahead of us. I can’t imagine passing judgment on your situation… especially with nothing known! Peace out!

I cannot wait for the TA to come out as well so a select group of pilots and their representatives make it seem like our best and only option is to accept a contract that has less than industry leading pay, significant changes to current vacation policy, and a grab bag of other "efficiency improvements", because the alternative will be starting all over which they will say will drag on for years. Oh and they "fixed" retirement. This is almost like a forgone conclusion and Its pathetic!!!
This pilot group is the weakest I've ever seen in 30+ years of commercial flying.

UPS screwed us? I didn't know that was a negotiating tactic on UPS pilot's part. Seems UPS and FedEx had the highest pay rates for several years. You do know contracts change and pay rates go up with each contract? Perhaps waiting to see what the TA is all about might be an idea, no? I'm waiting for all the whining to keep going by a select few when the TA comes out and the pay rates aren't $1,000/hr, some people are never happy. And my God, I'm a no vote if we didn't get lie flat seats on this TA. You know we screwed UPS pilots on giving in to that concession.

I've expressed to my representative that if the NC did not meet the MEC's contract objectives it needs to be sent back and if they won't do it then the crew force will. There is simply not enough pilots who are voting on retirement alone to pass a concessionary substandard TA this go around.

Shhh. Purple tool box and his ilk are months from retirement. If you vote this contract down because it doesn’t have industry leading pay rates, that would be unconscionable.

Lets just look at your view when you hit retirement. Lots of guys talk tough but when they are headed out the door, their attitude changes. Sad you want this to be all about your needs when the pilot group was polled and retirement was the top issue. I guess we should just tell the NC that we have no idea what we want. It was retirement, but when DL pay rates were out, then it was pay rates. When ASL took flying, then it was scope. You do notice out of 6,000 pilots its only you and a select few who are miserable and keep whining. But you have your head in the sand if you think the TA won't pass. Guys look at pay rates and thats it and you don't even know what they are yet.

Like UnusalAttitude said previously, I think this TA will be concessionary, not have leading hourly pay rates, but will fix the A Plan. This is not a NO in my book, it's a "HELL NO!" The previous three years had FedEx hitting revenues 50% higher than the pre-covid 1984 forecasted revenues. While our pax brethren we're receiving government loans and their companies were barely turning revenue we were working and earning our company billions more than forecasted. Yet, they were able to obtain non-concessionary contracts with solid financial gains. If this MEC approves a TA that doesn't even meet one of their three limited objectives, "industry leading hourly payrates," then it needs to be sent back by the pilots. As a post 2015 hire, I get the sense that it will be voted down. This is not the same crew force as the 2015 contract.

Why are so many unable to have more than one thought at a time? Failure to improve retirement significantly will mean that the same people who are now denigrating the focus on retirement will be the ones complaining down the road that it never got fixed. I hope that we are smart enough to walk and chew gum simultaneously.
