This thread is kinda funny... I keep reading it and keep thinking, "ya know, EAS still sounds pretty good compared to what I'm doing." I mean, 12/3 can be tough, but I want to get out and fly. I still enjoy the heck out of it. The family understands that, too. Right now, I'm cruising along as a PIC in a CJ and would love it if EAS asked me to come in. I can assure you, too, that it would be a raise. All of this just to say, we all come from a different place, and to some, EAS sounds like a move up, and I can't say the same about flying for Great Lakes...

there are Regionals where that is common, especially if you have a family and you have several deductions and other contributions.
i'm single (engaged) no kids, relatively little debt(for this industry), no mortgage, no car payment...I know a few that take home less then $1000/ month because of deductions/contributions to 401K, etc...and their on 3rd year pay...

Monthly averages in FTW are definitely around 18+ days from all the guys I talk to. Theres at least 10 nights away from home each month, but I would wait a while to see how that changes with the astro.
I haven't had a normal month for 4 months due to births, deaths, and holidays...but my average is about 18 days.

My last rotation was 11 days on with 8 in a row away from home and 9 overnights.

I am FTW/DAL bases. Sept I did 22 days, Oct 23 days, Nov 22 days and Dec 19 days. Sept, Oct I was on the road alomost the entire month. Nov a lot of out and back trips. Dec was a mixed bag. As of now in the month of Jan I have flown 4 days. I am PIC in the 350. I know the Phenom guys go harder then I do.

So at EAS, how many hours a month do you find yourselves flying? It always amazed me the number of hours a friend at AvantAir was flying a month. They seemed to be repo-ing the planes semi-frequently, and a 8-9 hour flight day was fairly common. Is EAS similar, or does it mimic the corporate world of two hours of flight for two days away from home?

MacJet - that is a great King Air job you have and I'd like to know what you're doing. That schedule sort of sounds like Air Ambulance.
As far as comparing salaries again though, as mentioned above, if I knew 20 or so King Air pilots making north of $100k (and I'm not talking about contract sandbox flyers), would you think it right if I called your pay sub-par?
