A release would get you a contract a helluva lot sooner than the course you're on now. If you think you'll end up with a respectable contract via good faith negotiations with Indigo you're out of your mind, or inredbly naive

Very much this. Indigo knows what they need to do to keep the ball rolling down the field. Expect this to be a long, drawn out fight.

It’s been quite evident that mgmt has no intention on resolving the contract any time soon. As a new hire (less than 1 year) is it worth sticking around? The hopeful optimism is dwindling and the false promises of “real” growth reasonable upgrade times are not as they seem.
Would any of you recommend going to AA or SWA If given the chance?

With less than a year here I would be applying everywhere. With the amount of hiring occurring at the legacies, you need to get out ASAP to capitalize on seniority. I don’t know a single FO here that isn’t updating applications at the legacies (I’m sure there’s a few that plan to stay, just not the majority by a long shot), and many junior captains are as well.

Everyone’s situation is different. If you’re close to retiring and live in one of our hubs, I can see why a new hire would stick it out here...other than that, if you’re in your 30s, you’d be insane to not try moving on. No offense to the F9 pilots staying-it’s a great place to work IMHO, but if you’re under 40, you’re literally leaving millions of dollars in retirement and earnings if you stay here (and that’s even with our “ask” pay rates for the next contract)

So what happens if every-time we get close to getting released, Indigo just lets a little slack out and the NMB never lets us go?

If you can, yes I suppose you do vote with your feet. Not realistic for many as someone pointed out earlier.

My fear is frustration takes over and the group settles for less.

Thats EXACTLY what Indigo will do. Union Busting 101. Wear you down...........

The only thing that may help is lack of applicants but im sure theyll just do what Spirit is doing, hiring 2,000 hr guys who have no business driving a car, let alone an Airbus
