Again, why do you feel compelled to educate us? The 5%? Why would you care about the 5% who never change? Why would you spend any amount of effort? I can think of a million things I can do with my time and no where on my list is it going on another airline’s forum to help “manage their expectations”.

Honestly the biggest reason is that, more often than not, the misinformed and the uneducated are the most vocal. Ever notice how it’s always the same 5% of the morons that ask 90% of the questions in union meetings and pilot calls? They make all of us look like idiots.
Additionally, as a reminder, the union never asked for DL++, so the last two pages of this thread have been a bunch of pointless hyperbole.
Sincerely,
-inquisitive moron who makes you look like an idiot

Ya. I ask a large number of questions at union events. I’ve read every last bit of the RLA and explanatory material that the union has encouraged us to read. But I still stay engaged and ask questions of our reps because we’re in a fluid environment. I try to stay informed.

Anyways I’m done arguing about it. I’ve already wasted too much time with this. Just know that myself, along with most all Spirit pilots are behind our Frontier brethren. I hope your NC knocks it out of the park. Let me know when and where if y’all get released, and I’ll be there

Man I give up haha. I used Delta as an example to illustrate my point. Insert any other airline and see how Frontier stacks up when it comes to total net profit per pilot.

No it’s not bad. But it’s not Delta. To compare apples to apples: Delta 2016 net profit was $4.37 billion. Divided by 14450 pilots and you get $302,000.
$302,422 vs $181,818.
My original point was you can’t just look at profit margin when comparing.
But again, I’ll reiterate that Frontier CAN afford to pay industry standard. Quick math using your example: each pilot could get a $100k per year raise and the company net profit would still be $81,000 per pilot (or $89 million for the year). However good luck convincing the mediator or that.

The only thing you are missinig is a lot of that stated profit is also generated by thousands of “Delta Connection” pilots. Put them into the mix and your number goes way down. I get what you are saying, but on a pure pilot basis your number is way off.

It’s obvious regional pilots don’t make money for their mainline colors, that’s why they’ve been paid in peanuts over the last two decades! It’s really simple, you use planepirate’s math of net profit, and what you have on a bad year is zero net profit. Quick math, 0 profit divided by 2000 pilots is 0... I guess they don’t pay regional pilots on bad years.
Shucks, net profit divided by total pilots is an excellent metric for judging pilot compensation. Genius!
