Default Route Map

I think it's helpful to see the route map when discussing bases and routes. It does seem like Orlando being day turns and two days is a bit of a pipe dream

I think it is plausible. Chicago was 46% turns for June. And I'm sure there will be some directive to make MCO look as desirable as possible, schedule-wise, to attract movement away from DEN.

I think that route map is going out the window when MCO opens. Obviously the changes have significant competitive impact, so they won't be released until the company publishes their new schedules (humm - wonder why we can only book out through October on the website?), but the Eastern Seaboard has a ton of O&D traffic which may fill 230 seat 321s.

Day turns and two days suck for commuters, but if you live in base they're golden. Can't wait to hear the top 10 guys on the list go off on the union site about how a more Jr pilot can hold MCO lines which have 18 days off, weekends and holidays off but they are flying on a Saturday in July.

Just like every other airline, trips will have different characteristics depending on the Domicile / equipment. If you read the memo (PLEASE DON'T POST IT ON APC!) with some imagination and an eye to where the money is, I think the allocation of ASMs becomes clearer. Anybody up to my $.04 bet yet :-) ?

Latest rumor on the crew bases. LAS will open sometime next year(1st Qrt) as a crew base to alleviate all the re-eyes from Vegas. Also, PHL will open sometime before the end of next year and TTN will be no more as the airport failed to deliver on their promise. Denver will continue to shrink with attrition into the new bases. Again, just gospel but apparently it came from someone high in mgmt.

I have been hearing the LAS base rumor for last couple months also. LAS has lots of flights with more to come and gates are easy to come by in D concourse. This is what my psychic has come up with. By this time next year 1000-1200 pilots on property. 400 - 450 in Denver : 200 in ORD : 200 in MCO and 200 in LAS. (adjust other bases to reach 1200) We will then have a base in each time zone.

I don't believe the company is going to open a western domicile that soon. I think Vegas is very competitive with spirit, southwest, allegiant, and everyone else. I think the company will hold out, wait for more planes and evaluate between Vegas and Phoenix...a little further down the road.

They'll let the Orlando base shake out for a while before they add another base. I bet a western domicile doesn't open for a year. Just my guess though. Also, my money is on Phoenix.

As in, widely open to whatever interpretation works best for the story at the time?

Jk. I know you meant 'gossip'.

How many pilots are you currently up to now? Does anyone have an up to date number?
