There is a reason for the differentiation, it "saves" the company money. If we got a straight 5% then the company couldn't sit on their share of the match on contributions over 10%. Currently if you contribute more than 10% you have to wait until 1/30 of the following year to receive your true up. In addition, the company match maxes out at $9000 because their liability is capped at $180k (10% of 180k is the 401 k contribution limit, 18k, they give you .50 on the dollar) one of the many things that need fixing

What is GPA a measure of?

I completed my degree at ERAU in just under 5 years with a 3.16 GPA. But, I wanted to learn so I completed MANY MORE upper division classes than I was required to. Inevitably my GPA took a hit. Basically I got a lower score on a harder degree. Is a GPA always a GPA?

Granted GPA is nothing more than a measure of your grades in class, it's not the whole picture. My roommate knew the material better than I did, but he was a bad test taker, hence his lower GPA. It sure doesn't mean I knew the material better, than he did. But this is the only measure we have regarding our degrees, so not a lot else a hiring manager has to go with.

It depends, did you major in Aero Sci with a 3.16 GPA? I went to riddle and majored in AE with a 3.8 GPA along with a flight minor and math minor. Not to downplay Aero Sci, but that was a dumb degree compare to mine. Would you say GPA is GPA if someone graduated with my degree and your GPA? If you are the hiring manager, who would you choose, if we are only looking at GPA?

I see some Frontier people posting on the thread and I thought id asked for some interview advice and gouge if available as I have an interview Feb. 16th. The selling of F9 being a place where I want to be will be easy for me because I truly want to be there, its an exciting, growing, fierce competitor of a company and I am pumped for this opportunity to progress my career. Thanks guys, PM me if you want.

Congratulations on the interview. You've got the right attitude. Frontier wants to hire guys that aren't looking to use frontier as a stepping stone. Tell them that you want to be part of a growing company.

If you've got 400 bux, call Lori Clark. She does really good interview prep. I think it's flytheline.com

Yeah, Todd is here at F9. Never flown with him, but seems like a good guy.

Quoted because I agree with everything you posted, especially going with Lori Clark. She was fantastic.

I studied Management. All of my extra upper division classes were in MGMT because I really wanted to learn. Cost me some points but I did learn.

No one cares about your GPA...including the hiring board at Frontier. If you want to fly for Frontier, your 3.1 GPA isn't going to stop you.
