i have not posted here in a long time. i do look here occasionally and today the posts just make me want to shake my head.

first of all, no one in management is stupid enough to believe that any of us would settle for a single one of their chintzy proposals. this is a negotiation for christ's sake. don't ever forget that. we start high, they start low. they hope we will meet somewhere in the middle. they proposals they submitted are b.s. they know it as well as we do. they are simply an attempting to stall and show the mediation board that they are "negotiating".

what we need to do in lieu of this is resubmit our proposals to 10-15% greater across the board in EVERY category compared to the best contract of any other airline in the usa flying a similar fleet type. SWA just got a better contract. our reasoning for doing so is due to changing market conditions. every time another airline gets a better contract and we are still in negations, we resubmit a new proposal as stated above.

telling pilots not to come here because you are unhappy is just f-ing stupid! if you could see the forest through the trees, you would encourage good pilots to come here with the expectation that they will stand with us and help make this company better in the near future.

telling other pilots not to come here accomplishes nothing.

i came here from a long tenure as a captain at a regional. i knew what the pay was but i chose to come here anyway for several reasons: 1)faster upgrade time than any legacy 2) mostly better work rules than any regional in the usa. 3) generally great camaraderie with the crews i fly with. everyone that i have encountered at this company-with very few exceptions-has gone far out of their way to make me feel like i am a part of a family here. you won't get that at a legacy. 4) the regional airline industry is stagnant and likely has no future. 5) i know that in a couple years, this is going to be a really great place to work. i am willing to stand firm with my brethren. i will vote to strike if that is what needs to be done. i promise you that these dorks will cave like a house of cards and give us everything we ask for if we get to the point of a strike. why? because all they care about is making money and milking the cash cow. if we can inhibit their ability to make money, they will do what ever they need to in order to keep it flowing in.

you guys drive me crazy by reacting exactly the way they want you to. stop making this emotional. i promise you that it isn't emotional for them. all they care about is the cash. we have the ability to make this company exactly what we want it to be.

stop whining and figure out something you can do to help all of us accomplish this goal. every one of us needs to find a way to put pressure on them in one way or another.

jesus!

sorry for the rant! carry on with your whining.
Really, so people that have been with this company for years and more than paid their dues through the ups and downs don't have every right to be pi$$ed off and complain about the slap in the face that was just slid across the table? I've flown with guys that have been here 10+ years that are pi$$ed about what's happening. Should I tell them to shut up, it's just 'negotiations?' We aren't worth more than what would still be a substandard industry contract, even today, plus the absolute pillaging of even basic work rules that people receive at even the regional level? And by the way, regarding your quicker upgrade than any legacy... Delta is at 2 years. We are at 2.5 and getting lengthier every bid. May want to fact check. Go back to your single engine taxiing and shaking hands at the GO.

you are talking with your female hormones. we can all go around acting like this is a slight against pilot humanity. the company proposals are ridiculous. but then i already stated that. (maybe you failed reading comprehension). every airline in the history of airlines has made opening proposals to its work groups of a similar nature. the mistake everyone is making is that they are taking it personally. just one more asinine thing to stick it to the man? i suppose in a way there can be truth interpreted in that with everything else that has gone on here in the last couple years. when you talk about what is "happening" here, this doesn't qualify. those proposals are just stupid words on a piece of paper. blah blah blah........

if you are so upset about it, what are you going to do to make it better? are you going to find a better job? are you going to volunteer with the union? probably the limit of your action will be 6itching among other pilots and pi$$ing and moaning on the message boards all day. you and others are wasting your energy. be pi$$ed if you need to be but channel it into something useful.

yes, delta does have a 2 year upgrade if you don't mind doing 717 regional flying out of new york. when i was hired here, the upgrade there was a good deal longer than that. i suppose you already knew this though......

Of course it's garbage but did you guys really think they would give us an offer we would be voting on?

It's an opportunity to file for mediation... The required next step, before the next step, etc. I think it's a good thing.

Well, the fact that Frontier still has people who want to go out of their way to help the company is baffling. No one can argue the fact that Frontier is a terrible place to be when pilots are leaving left and right and rampers are walking off the job (yesterday)! It's insulting management thought this proposal was ok when the work group is already ****ed off and FOs at other airlines are making more than captians.

Do you think that management thought this proposal was OK? Of course they didn't. They are just stalling and know they aren't required to offer anything better. I think as soon as everyone realizes F9 is a business and not a family you will quit being so emotional about it.

I carried a stroller up the jetway this morning, but only because the mom was hot. Does that make me a company sell out?

First off, being ****ed off does not equate to being emotional.

Second, you are a tool for carrying the stroller. I don't care what the circumstances.

I've said this before... We'll never see a contract from this management team... Anyone who thinks frontier is going to have fun animals on the tail in three years is not seeing the bigger picture... Soon enough you'll all be ****ing and moaning that you got screwed on the SLI... Meanwhile, nides, biffle, franke and meehan are laughing their asses off reading this...

And carrying a stroller up the jet bridge isn't selling out... It's not the customers fault this management team is a bunch of selfish, self involved, greedy pigs... You should do the best job you can because you have pride in yourself

We have had the same contract for years and nothing has changed. I trust the negotiators to do their job but it will take time and probably a picket sign. Indigo could care less about what everyone gave up to save the company. Maybe that's why some feel insulted because they are just now realizing this. It will only strengthen our unity for future because the we are all now on the same page.

Tank top, non formula fed kid.... I was weak.

I would have helped the mom as well. There's a huge different about not helping the company out and another about helping a person in need. We are human after all.

I'm behind the MEC, I'm just saddened about how this company is changing for the worse, this should be a place for people to hang their hat.
