I don't know about you guys but I get $36/month for parking. The airport I commute from is $50/month but at least it helps.

Do they ever have lines that are only red eyes? Do they go senior? How long is reserve in MCO? I didn't realize ORD was a year. Sorry for playing 20 questions!
You will have better juniority in Orlando. From what I've looked at lines at either base are about the same for a commuter- good on one end, hotel/crash pad for the other. Chicago is pretty stagnant as of late, and movement is mainly at the bottom end for base swaps.

Skater3260 about covered it, MCO would be a better choice for you. You'll hold it faster and *should* be off reserve quicker there as well. You'll have plenty of opportunity to fly red eyes and once you are off reserve there is a fair amount of schedule flexibility so you can drop and swap into more commutable trips.

I agree with all the guys or gals above. Pick MCO! When they open up LAS or West coast base, that will only help you out of MCO gain seniority that much quicker. West coast base will go relatively senior behind DEN.

If F9 picks PHL, then choose it. That would then be the most junior base.

Almost forgot- congrats! The first year feels way too long at $37/hr, but when you reminisce during recurrent it does by quickly. Things will get better, keep the faith.

Personally I'd take Ord initially! You will be on reserve for a couple months no matter what, and the crash pad situation is way better and cheaper in Ord! Also, the train is easy to get to and from the airport! Then in the very next vacancy that you're allowed to bid in (there should be one every month for the foreseeable future) switch to MCO or DEN for a line...I would pick Denver (more commutable with red eyes, and lots of movement with upgrades in spring)! Good luck with your choice!

Also DEN is the largest base by FAR, so it has the largest open time pot to switch your schedule around with!

Do you guys think KPHL would drive the upgrade time down significantly?

Like someone else said, yes Denver is more senior but there are more trips, so when you do hold a line your opportunities for trip trading are fairly abundant. I was former eagle as well, and my QOL in terms of trip trades with open time has been better here than at eagle (FWIW I was based in MIA near the end so smaller hub). It may be too early to mention this, but when you start holding a line, pairings will vary so look closely. Some have short turns on the end/beginning of the pairing which are usually really easy to drop, while others may have deadheads that you can deviate from. I've been able to snag several "uncommutable" trips that actually have deadheads to my home city, so I can essentially just drive to work to pick up my trip
